I been really looking for somebody who can share their knowledge and points of view in preparing for nursing licensure.....
can somebody please....

and I'm not advertising but... would it be possible to ask in your own opinion.......what nursing review center you took and are you satisfied with their service....
if that's not possible........
could you at least share.... your review tips/techniques....?
what did you do when you feel so bored and sleepy..?

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm in the last semester of nursing for the second time and very frustrated. I feel that I know the information but I have poor test taking abilities. I don't know what to do with myself because I missed passing by less than 5 points. How do you pick yourself up from this predictiment? How do you put this behind you and move through the next semester? Do you all have suggestions for me. I use all of the tools from med surg incredibly easy, Hogans: reviews and rationales but my biggest issue is test taking but only on certain subjects.
Any ideas or words of encouragement to the down and out nursing student.

Hello!!! i was also a second courser when i took up Nursing and with the help of the Lord, i was able to pass the December 2005 Philippine Board Exam. REview Centers make no difference.... i mean they are just there to help or to guide us on how we shall treat every question in the board exam... of course they will teach us how to memorize concepts and apply those concepts in exams... but at the end of the day, it is us, examinees, and our resolved to pass will make us NURSES.
I have been to 3 review centers before taking the Board exam last december and i noticed that they are all the same. All it gave me was confidence, which i dont have when i graduated from my school. Gapuz pentagon or RUN.... they are all OK, but do not rely on them, rely more on developing your own study habits... this counts a lot....
DOH, yes it matters....
Try also Carl Balita's Nursing Review.... this is a good aterial in the last two weeks before the exam.....
LASTLY, PRAY AND ASK THE LORD TO GUIDE YOU....
hope this will help you guys and goodluck!!!!!!!!!

Study groups ---- yes, this will help you in recalling all the concepts that you have studied... and it will also help your friends to know some/all of those concepts also.... (the essence ois sharing) your friends in return will be able to share some of the concepts which they are well versed.
SIngle/personal -- yes, this will help you concentrate on concepts which you think is your weakness... after this, you can again re-group your friends and do a group study.
TESTMANSHIP- answering past exams and reading review books like saunders, lippinncott, mosby and many more... there are only 500 questions in the board exam.. try spending at least 2 hourse a day answering questions and knowing rationales.... the more questions the better....
COFFEE SHOPS---- this really helps, at least in my case... you may do it alone or with your classmates... it is very encouraging to see other students who also study.... and besides you will be able to meet other students who are also studying nursig and preparing for the board exam also... a good time to exchange notes from different review centers...
Candies- make sure you have butterballs in your pocket.... remember, your brain needs glucose to work...
BREAKTIME- give yourself at least 15 minute of rest every two hours...
PRAY... IT REALLY WORKS
GOODLUCK TO ALL OF YOU I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU
