I just recently gotten married, and I am in the process of getting my social security card. My application for graduation is due on Jan 20th and I havent gotten all of my information changed at my school because I need my social security card. My card wont be in until after this deadline. I was wanting to know if they can change my information when I get my social security card or what. I know this sounds confusing but I dont want any of my information to be messed up when I take my NCLEX. This is shotting my nerves. Thanks!!!!!!!

How long ago did you apply for your card? Is this just a change of name?
I'm sure you'll have it well before you graduate and the school sends for your ATT.

Can you go to the registars office and talk to them about? Take a copy of your marriage certificate. Also, when I applied to get my new SS card, they printed me out a paper that said I had requested a new card and it was being processed (I needed it to prove to the DMV that it was being done).
The NCLEX shouldn't have anything to do with your graduation. We didn't apply for ours until much later in the semester, so all of the name change stuff should be completed.
Good luck!

Don't worry yourself. A name change is fairly simple at the SS administration. When I got married they sent my new card in a week. But for school they wanted to see my marriage certificate and that was it. So I would check with your school.

I got married a week after graduation. And of course, had to have all my application stuff for the board of nursing ready before then. So I didn't change anything until after I passed the nclex. That way all my stuff was in order and didn't have to wonder if it would mess anything up.

Can you use your old card? This is all news to me! I've been married for three years and have never even thought about needing to get a new card.
