Hi,

A friend of mine got interviewed yesterday. She is a nurse petitioned by a bug hospital in the US. However, she got pending because the consul asked for a CRITICAL CARE NURSE VISASCREEN.. Is there such? I am next to be interviewed on the same Job description and employer. Please advise..

interesting...which big hospital and where is it? Is this for an experienced nurse and if so how many years experience and education level required?

i am also interested to know what hospital sponsors H1B..Plenty of nurses from the Philippines had already gone to the US through H1B but I think last year, the immigration stopped issuing that visa to nurses. Anyway, what hospital is that? I want to apply on that hospital. I am Critical Care Nurse.

this is a big hospital in Florida. It is also a not for profit institution. So excluded in the cap. They are looking for critical care nurses for h1b. thanks guys. we'll be requesting a letter from CGFNS stating that thereis no such thing as a critical care visascreen. Pm me for more details on this employer.

@ LemuelRN: hi..i just would like to ask if that big hospital presently hire critical care nurses? i want to apply. i have been working as critical care nurse for almost 2yrs. anyway, i really dont know how to send a PM here. can u help me? i have questions..thanks...

I am not aware of any Florida Hospital that requires a BSN for critical care position. Check out the hospital web sites, all that is required is a current license and graduation from an accredited program. Last year very few H1B visas were approved for nurses, and I would guess that would be the same for this year since the economy has not improved.

Also to be hired as critical care nurse, one should have a certification such as CCRN which proves that you are competent nurse and should be able to work with minimal orientation.

@ Ginger MOM:

In that hospital a BSN is required in the position we applied for. We checked it on the website on the hospital and really saw that a BSN is required. 2 of my colleagues got approved already in USCIS. They are just waiting for their visa. The embassy asked then a CES issued by CGFNS and thats what they are complying.:coollook:

I have seen a facility advertising here in Australia - last year I think. Can't remember the exact name but has 'Florida' in its title.

Australians can get the EB3 visa - I don't believe it's that hard to get so maybe that's why are targeting Australians.

I was surprised to see a US facility advertising for foreign nurses in the thick of the recession ....not very good really

Think you are mixed up between E3 and EB3

E3 = Treaty visa only for Australian citizens who meet requirements (BSN or higher) with a specialist occupation

EB3 = Immigrant visa

Thanks for the info, I am going to contact my congressional reps, hospitals like this should not get federal funds.
