  1. Hi, I am also a new graduate nurse who is from South Korea as well. I am in basically in the same boat as you, and was wondering if you were able to find a job and have any advice for me. Thanks!
  2. Hi Enfermera, I know this post is almost one year ago, but I'm just curious about what has happened since then. How did you get hired at a hospital? Did you tell them about your current immigration status? Do you have a H1b visa now? I didn't know how I could contact you, so if you see this message, please let me know! I'm also speak Korean and I will start my OPT this July, so it'll be great if you can help me out! :) Thank you for your help in advance!
  3. Hi, I've been reading posts about people on F-1 status, and I'm just wondering what has happened since you graduated. I'm in the same situation, as I'll be graduating this May with BSN. So, if you read this, please let me know :) Thanks
  4. Can you please tell me the name of the hospital? I'm looking for hospitals that sponsor for h1b visas.. Thank you in advance!
  5. Thank you for your quick responses, and yes, F-1 is a student visa. I'm still looking for other options before I decide to go back to my home country.. Will joining the army/navy/air force nurse guarantee staying in the U.S?
  6. I'm an international student (on F-1) visa. I will be graduating with BSN in May 2012. I've been reading posts, and I'm even more confused than before. I'm still not sure what my steps are after graduation, since I'm planning to work in the US as long as I can. I'm applying for OPT with starting date around the end of June.. 1) do I apply for the visa certificate after graduation or NCLEX? 2) do I go directly from OPT status to green card, or do I have to apply H1b visa? Do they even accept people like me? 3) what is the likelihood of getting a permanent nursing job in the US right now for people like me? 4) what are the alternatives if my opt runs out? will master's degree in nursing guarantee getting a green card? Thank you, and any comment is appreciated!
  7. Hi, I've been reading posts on allnurses.com and it's really depressing to know that new grads don't qualify for a H1b visa. I will be graduating with BSN in nursing in May 2012, and I'm applying for an OPT right now. I want to work in the US as long as I can, and I was wondering what will be my next steps. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
