Grade venting!

So i just took yet another exam (3rd test in 4 weeks 0_0) so far so good im doing well. finally scored a 90 on this one, which is giving me hope to actually aim for an A because my last 2 scores were 88 and 84 (and that was AFTER a couple questions were thrown out) had me a bit skeptical that id be up for the task

im proud of how im doing, especially since it seems that others in the class aren't doing quite as well. I didnt wanna roam around class bragging about my grade so i figured i could shout out my progress here, and welcome anyone else to do the same (or even if you're not doing so well, let out your frustration and your scores where there are no judgmental faces)!

Hope all is well with everyone else, and for those of you that are having trouble, just keep swimming!

Well congratulations! Its hard when you want to scream with joy about your grade and can't because too many people (some who are your friends) didn't do well or may even be crying. So celebrate here...good job!!!

Congrats and good for you. You should be proud of your grades you worked hard for it. I just failed my first exam, 76% and passing is 80%. I thought I did everything to prepare for the exam, I did the unit review tests, ATI practice tests, reviewed notes and listened to the recorded lecture. The worst part of it all is that I felt really good after the test. I don't know where I went wrong. I knew going to nursing school was not going to be easy, especially when I still have to play mommy to two school aged children but I am doing the best and it does seem like I am. My quiz grades are good but his exam just took all the wind out of me. Any studying tips you would like to share?

Great job. I know what you mean about not being able to 'brag'. We have had two major lecture exams (both were over 20+ chapters). On the first one, I made an 86%, on the second one I made a 91%. Some of my friends didn't pass either exam, others just barely passed, so I don't want to tell them how well I did for fear of getting unwarranted resentment. I'm striving for an A this semester, so I gotta give it all I got. Good luck with the rest of your semester.

I hear ya! I've been doing very well on my nursing school exams (98%, 100% & 94% so far :) ) It's hard work and you certainly don't want to run around the room saying "woo hoo, I did it!", but you sure feel like it after busting your buns studying.

Congrats on your success and keep up the good work :D

Congratulations! I had the opposite problem Friday. Did my worst ever on a test (80%), but couldn't complain because a lot of people did REALLY bad. Instead, I tried to console them and didn't talk about my grade at all.

oh wow 80 is passing ? that sounds rough  that would definitely give me some testing anxiety.

As far as my studying goes, ive realized that all of my notes are completely useless. Our exams are structured in a manner where it doesn't matter what you know, its more like 80% and 20% actual facts. It annoys me to no end. Our questions are structured like "if s1 is the sound of the mitral and tricuspid valve closing, and s2 is the sound of the aortic and pulmonic valves closing, how can the nurse use this information to take into consideration the cultural implications associated with a clients ethnicity" haha like what???

Way to go!

We had our first test Friday and I get a 78. I was happy that I got above a 75(which is the minimum passing grade) and now I know what the tests are like I can adjust my study strategy and hopefully get a much higher grade on the next test.

Haha that's a great test question. I'm guessing it would be a select all that apply...

This is hilarious. I always used to joke around that the math test would read: "if the circumference of the NS bag is 6 inches and the physician weights 240lbs, what is the mL/hr?"

Ought the karma

This past exam was probably one of the easier ones, if not easiest all semester. Everyone did so well. Even the ones that are generally lost in class. And I still only managed an 84 :/ my study group got a 90s. I'm a little down about it, but I'm.still in good standing for an 8 if I shell put 86s and up from here on out

I think the answer is "the nurse would know their heart is in the right place"
