i got a job!

After months of applying to nearly 100 jobs, someone finally hired me! It is part time at a drug detox facility. This is a stepping stone for my new nursing career and I am sure I will learn a lot. To all the other new graduates out there, keep applying, someone will hire you.

Sounds like a great place to start! Best of luck to you on your new job!!!

Congrats!!! That's an awesome and unique way to start nursing. You will get a ton of experience from that :)!!!

Congratulations !!! I know how it feels since i have been applying for jobs and not heard from anywhere. I have one question though, what exactly does the RN do in a drug detox facility. Aslo, how did you apply for this job, in person or did you do it online? Any tips/ suggestions would be very helpful.Thank you.

I will have to wait and see what this job really entails. They did tell me it is not heavy in the skills you learn in school (caths, IVs, that sort of thing). The nursing is set up in such a way that one day you are charge, one day you assess and chart, and the next you might be the med nurse; that should keep it interesting.

I found this job listing in the Sunday paper and applied online, 2 days later I had an interview, and 2 days after that (today) they offered me the position.

Just keep applying to anything and everything, a job will come.

Thank you, it feels great. I tend to get demotivated from time to time but then when i read something like this, i get geared up. goodluck~~

congrats! Addictions is one of my favorites.

Congrats!!! I hope you love it!
