  1. i am sooo sorry this happened to you. as a new lpn i too am having difficulty finding a job and its sooo hard to stay positive.you are not alone. it's their loss. everything happens for a reason and i know there's something out there better for you. you are in my prayers.:heartbeat
  2. okay..so finally after 5 months of searching for a job i finally get a call from my dream job for an interview on fri afternoon!!! i am so excited and nervous..i really need this job so please pray for me!! any tips on how i can ace this interview will be greatly appreciated!ive been reading alot of interview books and practicing on how to answer questions because this will be my 2nd nursing interview since ive graduated ..im just so anxious. thanks!
  3. The thing is, Ive been working since I was 16 while helping my mom with the bills so this is all new to me. She has no problem with it because after all she IS my mom and according to her its "her job" to take care of me but I just dont like it. Im trying to stay patient and I pray every day for a job so I know a blessing is right around the corner. BTW it is possible to mooch off your mom. One of my close friends who is my age has no desire to go to school or work because her parents are financially well off. She sits home mon thru friday and parties on weekends with her "allowance" (Dead serious) Nothing physically or mentally wrong with this chick except for being lazy. Her parents dont seem to have a problem supporting her while she "finds" herself so who knows if she ever will!
  4. hello everyone!!! i am an a.a lpn who just wanted to stop in and introduce myself to everyone. i think this is a wonderful idea and would love to be a part of it. stay blessed!!
  5. Please lighten up...This was a cute story and not meant to be taken seriously.
  6. hello everyone!! here is my story. i am 22 years old and graduated from a lpn program in aug and got my license in sep. i have been applying to every nursing home,dr office, clinic in my county and so far nada! i call to follow up and all i get is " if we need you we"ll call you" i even went to several places in person to drop off a cover letter and resume in person with hopes of getting an interview on the spot but had no luck. the fact that christmas is coming up is not making things any better. i want to go back to school for my rn but that is impossible at this time due to my financial situation. i have a boyfriend, no children and i live with my mom so i have no bills (thank god for my mother) but i feel like im mooching off her! she supported me all through out school and i need to be out there working so i can help her out with the bills!!!!! i have recently started to apply to retail stores in my area so i can make a little money for the holidays but i feel like i am losing everything i learned in school..
  7. congrats!!! i wish you luck in your career. im a new grad lpn who is still searching but no one is calling me back. your post just gave me hope. thanks:d
  8. i see in your post you graduated 9 years ago..the economy has taken a dramatic turn since then. i appreciate your post but things are different here in nj. i am very professional when i go in person to fill out applications and i am very confident and am certain i come across that way but, for you to say that we shouldnt have any problems finding a job no matter what state we're located in is unrealistic. i highly doubt the my or the op's attitude are the reason we are jobless. facilities are not hiring plain and simple.
  9. hi onmywayok and congrats on receiving your license!!! (feels great dosen't it?) like you i am a new grad lpn and i plan on starting off in ltc although i am a little frightened.( i hear its unbearable! yikes!) i really enjoyed my ltc rotation in school and i just figured id give it a try and make up my own mind about it. i would recommend that you do the same. we might end up loving it and get great experience. good luck to you on whatever you choose
  10. wow!!!!! i am going through the exact same thing, but still trying to hang in there.i graduated in aug and ive filled out over 50 apps online not to mention ive been going in person to every nursing home facility in my area and still nothing!!! im not giving up because i know everything happens for a reason and god has a plan for me..(and you too!) just keep at it and you'll get something soon. peace
