FSW SPRING 2020

Hello!!

I'm creating this forum to keep in touch with upcoming nursing students interested in applying to the FSW 2020 nursing program. How many of you have taken the TEAS and are ready to apply?

I hope this year the offer the ANEW program for spring 2020 since last year they did not take any applications for the ANEW program.

I'm looking forward on hearing from other future students...

I purchased my books online through the FSW bookstore. Do they send us a link to access the bundle of books? Or will we be receiving a something from the bookstore to access the books?

I’m also buying my books from the online bookstore because the lee campus bookstore ran out. As I went through the checkout online it gives you the delivery method which is either pickup at an FSW bookstore or get it shipped to your address meaning we won’t likely receive a link to the books and instead we’ll receive an actual copy of the code to access our books.

Does anyone know if we can get scrub bottoms from other brands besides the ones sent on the email?

Has anyone at Charlotte or the other campuses purchased the ATI package/ATI Nursing Education from the bookstore yet? I haven't purchased it yet and I don't know how much it will cost but I read it is in an envelope. Do we take the un-opened envelope to the nursing office before class begins or do we bring it to class on the first day?

Also, has anyone purchased the Lippincott Coursepoint for Nursing Concepts v3 from the discounted website for $799 instead of from the bookstore for $999? Do we have to wait for shipping if we purchase from Lippincott? I also don't know if we're required to have specific stethoscopes/penlights/scissors. On the Phase IV packet it says to wait until class to discuss the stethoscope with our instructor, but I'm at least hoping to get the penlight/(bandage?)scissors from Amazon. I want to wait until orientation to find out more, but that's so close to the first day of class.

I bought the ATI package at the bookstore and it does come in a closed envelope that we need to take to your campus nursing office still closed I believe (I think we may be able to bring it on the first day of class but not completely sure). The cost for the ATI after tax was $565. I purchased my books from the FSW website because they were out of stock at the lee campus. When I looked into getting it from the 799 website I think it was missing some required items. If you go on the 799 website it will take you step by step on what is required for FSW if you want to try it. As for stethoscope, pen lights and scissors I’m sure you can just get them on amazon as they all do just about the same thing. Worst comes to worst amazon has extended returns on items because of the holidays.

Charlotte traditional.

I just spoke to a few students from Fall 2019 who purchased the $799 discounted rate and confirmed that it is the same as the $999 price.

The two programs that are needed to complete assignments are the same and the e-books are the same.

Just sharing the knowledge I receive from others in the program.

Does anyone know if we’re required to do the canvas orientation even if we are familiar with it?

Where did you find the discounted package?
