Free Textbooks?

Hello, I am currently taking my pre-reqs for registered nursing.

Are there any former students that would like to donate old text books, notes, or flash cards?

This would be very helpful to new nursing students like myself.

If the program you are applying to has a facebook page, try looking there. My program & school have FB pages dedicated to nursing/prenursing students, people who passed/graduated would always offer free/or for sale items, from nursing shoes, uniforms to textbooks and study materials. Good luck.

Thank you very much for the advice, I will definitely try that!

Network in your school with the students who are taking the prerequisite courses with you. It was not long into the prerequisites that groups of students at my school developed a network that passed books, notes, and study materials along to each other, usually for a decent price. People tried to connect with the A students because they produced the best material. Just ask and make the suggestions. Somebody will take you up on it.

Networking sounds like the best option. Thank you !

Amazon rents books for like 20 bucks for the semester

At my school, there was a designated area where donations could be left for other students, like used textbooks, scrubs, shoes, etc. Ask to see if your school has that and if not, start one!

1) Network with students in previous classes - often they are looking to get rid of text books for cheap, or are willing to donate.

2) Check out your school library - frequently books are available on reserve and/or can be checked out. I've even found text books available as free E-book editions from the school library so I can read them at home with out even having to go to the library (or carry a heavy text home!).

Yup. ? It's all explained in the video...

I've gotten most of my books used online for a fraction of the price of new. Only thing is you must be careful to buy the correct editions and on some books, there is a DavisPlus code that you must pay to access if it's scratched off (the code is under a silver coating like a scratch card when brand new). The ones without the code I try to buy in PDF form- I prefer not having all those books to drag around.
