Florida GN Pay

Does anyone have any idea what the GN pay would be for the Tampa area and do we also get shift/weekend diffs as well or straight hourly rate?

Are they negotiable?

I just wanted to know what to expect.

The GN pay is around $19 in Lee county and Tampa usually pays more than that. And you should get a shift diff.

Specializes in Med-Surg, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiac.

Probably similar to what it is here, the low 20's after you pass boards.

Specializes in ICU.

For Morton Plant, which is Clearwater: base pay for GN is 22.25 with a BSN, 1.00 extra for weekends, 3.00 evenings, and 5.00 nights.

I've heard of a general base from 20.50-23, with differentials a little different everywhere but similar to those posted for MPM. I haven't heard of anywhere that didn't offer differentials, but not everyone defines them the same way or has a separate evening rate.

At Tampa General, it is $20.69/hr, however there will be a pay increase given this month with an additional .80 cents/hr for new grads.

Specializes in ICU.

And I was quoted Bayfront (with a BSN): 22.00/hr, differential of 2.00 for second shift, 4.00 3rd

Move to Palm Beach!

Friend of mines just graduated school and is getting $31/hr at Delray Medical and $3 added to that for nights. totaling $34/hr.

ohh she works in ICU stepdown.

Around $19-20 in Volusia County.

TGH is $21.50/hr for new grads effective June 1st and you do get shift differentials (2nd shift-15%, 3rd 19%, and extra 5% on weekends).

is that for bsn or adn?

All new grads start at that rate both ADN and BSN at TGH. They do not pay more for BSN. They do have clinical ladder though and each level adds an additional 4% to your hourly. I work nights so I'm closer to $28/hr.
