Finding out if you got accepted before getting a letter

I have a question for all those who have applied to a program and have already been accepted. I've applied to my to school and now I am playing the waiting game. I don't want to jump the gun here and pass out from the excitement, but I noticed something different on my student info page when I log in. When I applied for general admissions to my school I chose Biology as my major since most of my classes where in that field of study. So 2 days ago on my student info page my major was changed to Registered Nursing, the reason I know it was 2 days ago is because I've checked the website every morning for the last month or so. I called the allied health office and have been told letters should be mailed out by the 15th so they where no help. So has anyone else who has been accepted to their program noticed that their major or department changed on the student info page prior to receiving their letter or just after. The waiting is killing me.... so any answers will be a great help.

Thanks!

I got my letter almost a month ago, I just looked at my student page and no difference. Cross your fingers, it might be you have been accepted

At my school thats what happened to me...took two weeks but I got the letter! Once i found out I asked my friends to check their webadvisor account and sure enough the ppl who had Rn as their major were all accepted and the opl who didn't well were not. I hope the same goes for you!

I have been told by nursing students at my school that even before the letters go out their major went from "nursing pending" to just "nursing". I havent applied yet but when I do I'll be checking my page everyday. More than one person has told me this. I mean, they usually decide whose in like 2 weeks before the letters arrive, so it makes sense they maybe they get put into the computer before the letters are sent. I hope this means you got in. I think you have a good chance! Good Luck!

I first found out online via my account that was created when I submitted my application. My letter came a couple days later.

Yes, the nursing courses were on my plan on study a couple days before I received my acceptance letter. So it sounds like you're in. I hope you get your letter soon! :)

The advisors for our nursing school called us to let us know....then an official letter came a couple days later....nothing changed in the system because we had to fill out a form to manually change our majors from pre-nursing to nursing

The same exact thing happen to me.... My student info page changed from Biology major to RN a couple of weeks later i received my letter that i had been accepted so i am pretty sure you are in congratz! Keep us posted

What a pleasant change to your webpage! Hopefully, you are correct in your assumption.

I've never heard of that, but now that you have mentioned it I'm going to be checking my account everyday too, lol!! The waiting is the worst! Letters for the school I applied to shouldn't be coming out for at least another 3-4 weeks, but I can't help but get anxious everytime I open the mailbox ;) Sounds like you are in!! Let us know when if its official!

I didn't find out until, I finished my prerequisites for nursing school and my adviser told me that she wouldn't be registering me for nursing school if i wasn't all ready in the program. The next week they sent me a congrats letter and it said I've met all requirements. So, thats how I found out, I thought it was pretty cool! As far as your major changing to nursing, they usually change it and update your status so you can pick your nursing courses. Good Luck! Wish you the best!

yes, we have been waiting patiently, (and not so patiently for our letters) My gf calls the other night she had noticed our majors on the college website had changed from nursing to Accepted nursing! We got together that night to celebrate over drinks, but waited to shout our news from the rooftops till the next day after she called the school. our letters showed up the next day! Who hoo!! it os official. ;-)

Congrats newbebop. yay!!!
