Finally landed an interview

Most of you know that I'm a recent grad who finished school on May 2009,and found a job six months later in a very prestigious private hospital in another state..I was promised a 6 to 8 week orientation and then I also was told I could ask for more training..I was paired up with a preceptor from hell who never gave me any feedback and just went straight to manager to talk shiet about me..anyway she got me fired me even before an orientation was over (I was going into my sixth week and havent even made any major mistakes...well anyway I was quite depressed and thought that I would never land another interview since I didnt disclosed that I was fired so it made me look I havent work for a whole year as nurse...this time I was a little bit careful and applied to Nurse Residency program..I found a great program with a 2 year training in the same state I used to work in..they only take 7 nurses a year but I did file application wit them even though I didnt hope for too much..today they called me for an interview, wow I'm so happy even though it is just an interview:))) I also applied to a residency program in a very prestigious hospital back home but so far no answer--but I would really happy if they pick me for the first program since it sounds like they have a great mentorship and support for new grads/nurses...

Congrats! Good luck!

Awesome, congrats!

Yay, I am soooo happy for you....:hpygrp::hpygrp:

I guess I will be the one to ask why you felt you had to lie on your application. Dishonesty is usually found out . It will look much worse to lie than to be let go from a preceptorship. Plaese believe me when I tell you that no matter where you are the nursing commnity is very interconnected. You never know who knows whom. My advice to any new nurses: don't lie and don't burn bridges-ever. The coworker you don't like could be the supervisor you have to interview with in two years. This happened to me. Ps. If you get the job they could still fire you for false statements on your application. You have to live in reality. You worked some place, you got fired, period. Don't start your career dishonorably. Just my opinion

Congratulations. I hope they pick you.

Good Luck!!

Is there a way they could ever find out you lied? Besides running into someone you worked with? I am curious for my own reasons:smackingf

I didnt lie..I just wont mention it..why should I?? It was just a brief period in my career..Plus I havent done any med errors, unsafe practices etc..I was let go due to a back-stabbing,jealous and just mean preceptor..The manager even said she would rehire me once I get experience--also I'm not denying my part of mistakes, yes I did make some mistakes but nothing major to get fired,so I prefer not to mention this black period of my life..
