I finally landed an interview for a surgery position I've been networking for 2 year to get. I'm want this so bad I'm afraid he's going to smell the desperation on me. lol
I've been doing med/surg for 2 years but I've wanted to do OR since I first stepped foot into the OR in nursing school. No one with or experience has applied for the job and so they have decided to train a newbie. I'm not going to sleep till Tuesday in anticipation. Wish me luck

Ahhh! Congrats. It must be so exciting. I recently had an interview for an OR position this month - first real interview. I was so excited for the opportunity as well.
Wishing you the best of luck!

I would say to still research, the position, ask questions, etc, etc.
Best wishes!

Thanks guys, yes I plan in researching the company job, etc, I'm a member of AORN and read the magazine to try to learn about the OR, even if some of it seems over my head. I'm practicing interviewing with my husband . Man, as sleepless as these next few days, they won't be near as sleepless as the days after the interview will be, waiting to hear.

Good luck!! they will love you. you have nursing experience, knowledge of how to deal with MDs (surgeons can be the worst hehe), and most of all nursing judgement. who cares if your experience is outside of the OR! walk in to the interview with all of the confidence you deserve.
Thanks and 4_Sq & MissM! My stomach is in knots and its still 3 days away.

There is a fine line between desperation and excitement. Having two years of med/surg experience is wonderful and that is going to strenghten you in the OR. I wish you the best of luck. Let me know how it goes.

If you like the OR so much then why don't you become a CRNA ?
