AT ALL BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IF YOU ARE NOT BLACK YOU ARE CONSIDERED A MINORITY AND THEY HAVE SEVERAL SCHOLARSHIPS THAT PAY FOR THERE TUITION THE ENTIRE TIME THEY ARE THERE! I have several friends who are white and they attend FAMU and BCU and they get special consideration since they are a minority in the college

We aren't talking about scholarships though, we are talking about admittance to a highly competitive program. Scholarships have every right to be selective as to who gets them, but an entire program?

My point was that anyone getting special treatment for anything, school, scholarships, whatever, because of their race or gender, whether they are black, white, purple, or have 3 heads, is wrong....just my opinion

Oh well can't change it and I have better things to do like preparing for my tests and taking care of my family, and the pharmacy program is competitve at FAMU and they have a something similar to fscj diversity program except reversed females and minority( other than black) males! I got in the program so I am happy end of story!

I think we can all failry say that regaurdless of how good the program is , if it were us that wasn't admitted bc someone else was for such a program (pretend it's something different all together) I think it would be fair to say we would feel a little jipped. Sometimes it is hard to see it from all points of view. If it truly does good, I'm all for it. It's people that sbuse the systerm that irritate me. And all different types do that.

Well, you go do that then

I agree with you 100%! One thing I hate is people who abuse the system! I worked hard ever since I was 14 years old, I refuse to abuse the system! Unfortunately my whole dept got laid off and its hard to get a job right now so I am pretty much living off of my financial aid, but I know many who lie to get free stuff not fair and they should be prosecuted!

LOL its the holiday, don't get upset over things you have no control over! Life is too short to be angry! Smile :)

I never disagreed with you, I was just looking at it in a different view that's all! Hopefully you get in when and wherever you apply! :)

I know you didnt disagree, but you kept saying that people in the diversity program had high points too, and some got in the regular way...and the point I was trying to stress was that if a white female had objectively high points, there are no programs to help her out, and that it is a limited access program for a reason, and there is a cutoff for a reason...anyone below the cutoff is.....well, cutoff! And that there should be no other way beside the regular way. That was the ENTIRE point I wqas trying to make throughout all this.

Anyway, you right, there is nothing i can do about it, I'm writing a letter but I doubt it will do any good, if it's meant to be for me to get in then I will. I have more important things to use my time thinking about that this...like getting ready for Christmas for one

Merry Christmas guys! Don't get too angry, but always have an opinion. I think we are all intelligent, hard working , and caring individuals . Or we wouldn't be here. So just remember that ! Remember how lucky we are to have the opportunity all all.

I am with you ! You are a hard worker and a mom!
