FCCJ SPRING 2010

I got my letter saying no! However they have my points WRONG!! By six points! Has anyone else heard of this?

Hey! This happened to me and I called the school frantic because they were off by 12 points and denied me because of this! They left my whole humanities points off! Well of course no one from the school called me back so i went storming (more like crying) up to the school and the secretary told me that the nursing director has been doing this for years and "she doesnt make mistake" SERIOUSLY? so the secretary was very rude and told me i would have to wait till DECEMBER 8 when everyone else gets to talk to the director in group session! I was hysterical and completely PO'D! I stormed out and i was almost to my car when the secretary was screaming at me from outside of the second floor and told me to come back! Well i talked to the director and they fixed it and apologized and accepted me into the program. Kinda pooey!

So my suggestion is you better go up to the school because this happened to me yesterday!

I had 6 CLEP credits for English. I asked what they would be calculated as and was told a "C"! (Geez!!!):angryfire

I was advised to take ENC1101. I did and thought it was a great waste of time and money, but I did get in to NS! It paid off in the end.

She sent me an email saying the same thing. Oh, that stinks, especially since I took the classes in high school and got A's in both! Well, I'm retaking statistics to bring up my GPA but I don't think it's a higher math than Calculus..... I guess I better hone my skills to get a really high score on the NAT!

I went to my WorkSource intake this afternoon! I will know by next week how much I receive! And they told me they would pay my tuition, books, supplies, uniforms, and gas $. They also said my Pell Grant, other grant would be sent to me! I can't wait to find out how much I will get, I am currently receiving unemployment benefits.

which worksource did you go to? The one at the college? I called one and they said there wasn't any funds available....

Yes, it is. I took statistics (I already had 4 math classes above calculus!) and got an "A" and they used that grade in my calculation.

Go to the one at North Campus! I went there she gave me the paperwork and schedule an appt fof intake and she processed my app and told me it should take a week to know how much I will get! Her name is Kendra Way she is very helpful!

what exactly is work source? ive been hearing about it, but never any explanation on what it is?

Worksource is a FL initiative. They are there to assist the unemployed for the most part. They have training programs to get folks back to work. Tied into this is helping Nursing students. I was laid off just before starting NS. I went into them as a displaced worker. They are paying my tuition, books, uniforms, equipment and pay $5/day (that you attend school) for gas.
