1. suzanne's plan

2. saunders saunders saunders

3. a live nclex review

4. learning extension?

anybody got any ideas or tips or words of encouragement?? im not working i need a job have been trying to get a unit secretary job (socal 626, 714, 909 area)..

i need to get myself together. just a mess right now. i will be optimistic after i let out some steam ahhhhhh!

I know Exactly how you feel! I Failed my RN Nclex twice>>>guess what it won't hit you fully until your friends and family start asking about your results>>>i felt like such a heel at my aunt's house yesterday>>.everyone asking so when you gonna take your boards>>I wanted the floor to open up and eat me! i had to broadcast>>>yes...BROADCAST in front of everyone at the dinner table..I failed>>>they all looked at me like the DUM of the MONTH! mind you i was the DUM of the month for three consec months with the HESI...lol...I need help too...Maybe it is test anxiety but I don't wanna talk to anyone only my FORUM friends....because I can be honest on this site....

I tried suzanne but she has stepped down so I'm also reaching out to everyone for help with what to study>>>>From what I've been reading Sunders 4th ed seems to be the main thing to study from>>i have 3rd ed..so i will get 4th! You should try it too! CHEER up and I mean it...you've got me & the FORUM, and i can honestly say YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Both of you take heart in knowing that you are not alone, I know what you are feeling...others on this forum have walked in your shoes. Don't give up, you both have the drive to succeed because you have made it this far. Take a break and try a new approach to studying, eg. get a study budy or use live review if you are able to afford it. You are able to do, just keep trying and you will succeed.:twocents:

Start a study plan from scratch, study as if you haven't taken then exam before. Practice 2-3 hours a day approx 100 questions. Read the rationale even if you got it right. Take some relaxing time and give your brain a rest.

I have failed the NCLEX-RN twice and I am terrified to try again. I can definitely relate to how you are feeling. All the questions about where do I go from here etc. All of my friends have passed most on the first try and it is so upsetting to have to admit that I failed not once but twice. Now I know that you are going to start studying again real soon. I would suggest that you might want to give yourself a couple of days to mourn. Yes I said mourn. We who have failed have lost a part of ourselves. You are definitely entitled to rant, rave and have a good old cry. That said if you need a stranger to let it all go to I am here. Starting fresh each time is a great idea. Review you letter from the board about what you missed and definitely focus on your weak areas. You never know what you will get on the next test, it may just be all the stuff you are strong in. I just keep telling myself that and visualizing PASSED by my name.......

I just got up the courage to post and I think that this is a turning point for me. I have found many encouraging words here in this forum and I finally feel ready to get back on the horse. Thank you to everyone who has posted.

Im so sorry. NJ's rule is after the third time of failing you have to take a mandatory review course I believe approved by them. That was what I was told when I failed the first time. That I had 2 more times and then I would be required to take a review course if I did not pass and only after successful completion of the review course would they send an ATT again. Again Im sorry.

....what is a fix-it ticket??....

take time off. then, get back to studying. as silverdragon continues to state in all of her nclex posts....do more questions. i have found through friends that did not pass the first time that practicing more and more questions seemed to be what helped them most. then, reviewing the rationales, and taking notes (making notecards/flashcards especially) helped to reinforce their knowledge base.

remember, you made it through your nursing program. you will pass the nclex!!!

try this review : http://www.excellnursingreview.com/ , i heard they have a good passing rate
