how can i get the job?
I agree with the other posters about getting your CNA and about going up against those who already have it. Have you thought about talking to the nurse recruiter at the hospital? Are you familiar with nurse intern jobs? You have to wait until after your first med surg clinical rotation to apply for these jobs but they are a way for a nursing student to get her foot in the door. It doesn't hurt to call and ask. I know that would delay employment until next spring but at least you will have talked to the recruiter and maybe she could steer you in the right direction for a job until you are eligible for an intern position. :)

Omg... I just failed for the second time
Ms. Tessa, I have also failed 2 times. Embarrassing and humbling but not I repeat not the end of the world. I took a Kaplan review the first time, studied Saunders and still did not pass. Second time I redid Kaplan and Saunders and some other books that did not help me. This time I am going to the National Nursing Board site and doing the review there. I figure hey they should know what they are doing and besides I have read many posts by admins, and members like us who say that this is a good review. I found that I too knew the stuff. Worked my butt off for each time but I discovered that I have anxiety. I would do I question and it would be a hard one and then I would get an easy one or a repeat of another question. I would get nervous and start to second guess myself and before I knew it I was in that downward spiral. I have since tried many different relaxation techniques and they do help. Even the wacky ones. I did talk to a professional about my results that came with my failure letter. So I know that it is not knowledge based nor is my problem not knowing how to discern the right answer. I lack confidence when I get crazy about this test. I don't have this problem anywhere else but with the dreaded NCLEX and that is something I must conquer. Don't give up. Take a break, relax and find a good review that works for you. We can all name reviews that we have tried or that worked for us but you have to find the one that fits you. Fits how you learn. Hurst is good, but so is the one on the national site. I would go to their web pages and check them out. Just my two cents, so take it or leave it. But know this you are not alone and many people have to take this test a couple of times. Besides once you get that coveted license who cares how many times it took. :)

Is it required to take a class after your 3rd time failing?
in ocala area. love the Tampa area though. money is tight every where I guess. by the way workforce connection here in ocala paid for one test. ck out the workforce connection in the tampa area, they maybe able to help you out. it isn't based on income or anything like that. keep in touch. at the very least we can cheer each other on. check out the nursing blog on this site. the nclex one is good. also if you need pharm help let me know and i will connect you with another thread here on this site that is good for that too. i will help all i can. this is a great place to find hints and study questions as well as support.

Is it required to take a class after your 3rd time failing?
lovered1224, I also live in Fl and I am in the same boat. Working up my courage and trying to raise the funds to take the test again. Where do you live in Fl? Your local community college is your best bet for the class and yes it is expensive. Check out the classes not for credit that is where it is listed (at least at our local it is there). Keep up the faith and if you want to commiserate let me know. :wink2:

failed again 3rd time ...
Well, for starters I live in the states and I followed all the steps I was told to by the Kaplan representative when I signed up for the program. I am kinda funny that way, I always find out the steps I need to take should I need to get a refund. Sorry, it did not help you. I guess they have different rules for international students? Don't let this get u down. Remember to start over with your studying just like you have never taken the test. Have you tried using the Saunders 4th edition book for studying questions? It is really great because it gives the rationale for each answer. Again I am sorry that I could not help you with Kaplan.

failed again 3rd time ...
I used Kaplan and you need to notify them that you failed the exam. They should refund your money. Hope this helps. Keep your chin up. Pay attention to the advice that Silverdragon gave you about studying. Starting over fresh is the best thing to do.

I passed after taking test my 4th time....
I need all the luck I can get. This time I know I am not telling anyone. That way if I don't pass I won't have to deal with the "oh I am sorry" responses. Thanks again.

i failed my 3rd time!
cpacia124 & Quinervin I have failed the NCLEX-RN twice and I am terrified to try again. I can definitely relate to how you are feeling. All the questions about where do I go from here etc. All of my friends have passed most on the first try and it is so upsetting to have to admit that I failed not once but twice. Now I know that you are going to start studying again real soon. I would suggest that you might want to give yourself a couple of days to mourn. Yes I said mourn. We who have failed have lost a part of ourselves. You are definitely entitled to rant, rave and have a good old cry. That said if you need a stranger to let it all go to I am here. Starting fresh each time is a great idea. Review you letter from the board about what you missed and definitely focus on your weak areas. You never know what you will get on the next test, it may just be all the stuff you are strong in. I just keep telling myself that and visualizing PASSED by my name....... I just got up the courage to post and I think that this is a turning point for me. I have found many encouraging words here in this forum and I finally feel ready to get back on the horse. Thank you to everyone who has posted.
