Excuses for Missing Work

How about a list of wierd excuses for not coming to work?

My favorite: I can't come in today, I'm having vision problems. I just don't see myself working.

my mom's psychic friend told her that i should not be working today. so i am really afraid to come to work.

I like the one, "I can't come to work today because the windshield wipers make me nausious and it is pouring outside."

:rotfl::rotfl::roll:rotfl::rotfl: Dang, I wish I had thought of that.:lol2::lol2::lol2:

We had a nurse call in to report,

"The tires fell off my car and I got a terrible headache from all the bouncing..so I went to the doctor and he sent me home." (true story!!)

Another time the same nurse called in to say her dog drown in the pool...(she'd used the same excuse the day before!)

Needless to say, we told her to just stay home!!

We had a call out from a RN. She couldn't come in because she was arrested at Walmart for shop lifting...Funny story though! She dressed up in a wig, hat and sunglasses. Went into walmart to get a five finger discount and was caught on her way out by the "older" Walmart Greeter. Which the RN turned and started hitting the greeter with her purse! They did fire her at the Hospital before her next shift. We dubbed her The Greeter Beater...

What gets me is she worked for a Travel Nurse Agency. Everything was paid for, from housing, travel pay, meals etc...There she is in Walmart shop lifting!?:nono:

How about adding this to the list. Fell at work spraining your knee and our employer suspenses you for thirty days.

You need to get a lawyer to raise holy hell with that employer and give her some "suspense".

co worker called in and was asked by rn supervisor what was wrong. He acted shocked and said "I can't make a medical diagnosis but I am having an alteration in comfort r/t high temp." :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I would have thought The Greeter Beater could have shown better taste than to shoplift at Walmart.:lol2::lol2::lol2:Golly, make it worth your while!:lol2::lol2:

:yeahthat::yeahthat::yeahthat::yeahthat: For sure!!

Mom said there was a girl that called in because her cat ran away......

The next weekend (she was weekend option!) She called in because the cat came back!!

She did not work there long....

my ex-husband did that to me -- twice! i went to work, but was really late after a 30 mile bicycle ride!

no wonder he's your ex.

I have always told my team that if they feel so strongly about not coming into work that they need to make something up, at least make it good so we can all have a good laugh since we're the poor mugs who are gonna be stuck trying to cover the shift or working short handed. I've only had "a mosquito bite on my bum so I can't walk or sit down." and "I didn't sleep well at all last night but I'm feeling very tired now so I'm gonna get some sleep and come in late." Sickness in my team is very low.
