Hey Congrats, Excelsior is a good program! I Love it. On their web site they have an online bookstore to get your books, however i recomend getting books on amazon.com its alot cheaper! Good Study tips: go to flashcardexchange.com and look at the notes for nursing concepts. I noticed that most of the notes are related to test questions. Plus taking the Excelsior practice exams are really good. I usually take them and study the rationals. Good luck and its not as bad as people think!

Not so bad; I've taken Nursing Concepts 1 and 2, Chronicity, and I will take the Reprouctive Health exam in 2 weeks... After that I have to take Life Span 1, 2, and 3.... Excelsior looks at ur edu history and let you know the classes you need for you AVN/ASN.... Good luck... Not back at all.... if you ahven't started; check out bookstore online/they have cliffnotes on each course and target what you need to know; this method is a bit cheaper than taking all courses from excelsior... Check out http://www.dlsii.com/asnprogram.htm... I use them for the books and I pay excelsior the fee for the exam and I take the exam at person vue... Good luck....

I have the books from college network. If you are interested PM me.

You should get the nursing texts that are recommended for the exams or get substitute books that you find more to your liking. Buy them at half.com or other places where you can get better deals.

My best advice to you at this point is to set up a study schedule for yourself using the study outline for each test, and do not let yourself fall into the trap of procrastinating and putting the tests off. Life has a way of happening and you want to finish this program spending the least amount of money.

I have two friends that graduated Excelsior - both of them agreed that this is the most important piece of advice about the program - BUY THE CLINICAL DVD TO STUDY BY. They said the clinical is very very strict, and they wouldn't have passed it without studying the dvd over and over and over.

I think it's around $120 or so last time I checked - it's not part of the required materials.

I've also read on the EPN journals that one student credited Excelsior's dvd to passing the CPNE, especially the Labs Simulations. I was put off buying it at first, due to some people saying it was a waste of money and didn't teach them anything. But since I've just found out that it's not possible for me to go to a workshop, I'm going to buy the clinical dvd, just to get a feel of what the real exam is going to be like.

I just contacted Excelsior to buy their CPNE DVD and she informed me there was going to be a new update version coming out in mid-July. Just FYI!
