do not go with rueed!!!!!!! i went that route 5 years ago. passed 2 tests (pre-req's) then could not pass the 3rd test with their material. i called them because they "gaurantee" you will pass. they suggested 3-4 more books i could purchase to help me pass. they were such a rip-off. go with ec's suggested book list, but get them off amazon.com or e-bay. pretty inexpensive.

i called ec directly and they went through it step by step (1.5 hours on the phone). i went online and downloaded the fee schedule too. turns out to be almost half of what the test prep svcs are charging, with alot more support.
thanks for your input.

Yvette, I'm glad you checked it out before signing a contract with one of those publishing companies! It drives me nuts when they spin it to sound like you need them to do school through EC. The RUE Ed website even says "Rue Ed will help you earn your nursing degree at half the cost." Half WHAT cost? Half the cost of a traditional program, maybe? It's misleading, IMO. Grrrr.
Go to EC directly. You can purchase practice tests and download study guides for each exam. The practice tests are about $60 and you get 2. Plan on doing one before studying to see were your weakness may be. Then do the 2nd after studying and you get a really good ideal of the material you may have tobrush up on.
Thanks Lisa, It makes financial sense to go directly through EC. And as I stated earlier, I am comfortable with the online learning venue. I'm comfortable setting and sticking to a scedule.
btw, lpnmaura, that would be an excellent way to monitor how well I am doing an what needs brushing up on.
Thanks
Yvette

Hi All,
I am interested in the Excelsior nursing program and I've received confirmation that at least 27 of my associate degree credits will transfer.
I feel my head spinning...
I just spent the last three days comparing the following three test prep services:
RueEd
iStudySmart
The College Network
Am I wrong in assuming that it would be better to enroll directly w/ Excelsior, instead of using a test prep service?
(I've taken online courses in the past and am very comfortable in this venue).
Thumbs up
or Thumbs down
What do you think?
Yvette
