“Today we really proved that socialism wins,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-endorsed Kirsten Gonzalez crowed after winning an open race to represent a district covering parts of Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan."

Congress persons asking for pork for their districts is as old as congress itself, but touché to Biden on this one.  You can't make this stuff up.

Which is why it's so disingenuous and hypocritical of Republicans to use that divisive language.

Some states offer early voting--starting as early as 10/17/22; while in my state PA, polling locations only open on November 8th unless mail in ballot requested.

I hate to say that I don't know when and where early voting is here, but I think it's about 10 days before the election.   I think this is fair to allow people that can't vote on the designated day a time and place to vote and to vote by mail. DeSantis says Florida is a very secure state as far as voting goes.

I was looking at my county and there are 695,000 registered voters of which 237,000 are Democrats and 247,000 are republicans and interestingly enough 210,00 are "other".  Probably the "other" holds a lot of sway in how things go.

In Alaska I am one of those "others".

I was for the longest time.  30 years ago when I moved here I registered as one of the "others".  As it turns out only once did I vote for a republican and that was for mayor and I wound up regretting that vote.  But the Democrat would have been worse.

It wasn't until Clinton went against Obama that I decided to register as a Democrat so I could vote in the primaries and you have to be registered for that party the vote in the primaries.

Yep. I began as a registered Republican and evolved into a libertarian after exposure to Ron Paul's politics. I was elected to public office in the late 90s as an independent.  I am considering joining the democratic party here in Alaska to help them out.

Veterans and reservists make up nearly 30% of political candidates who question the 2020 election

More than a quarter of the candidates on the ballot in November who have publicly denied or raised questions or doubts about the legitimacy of the 2020 election have served or are serving in the military, an analysis by The War Horse has found. These include congressional candidates from a major political party as well as candidates for governor, secretary of state, and state attorney general—positions that oversee elections.

These baseless allegations of fraud follow President Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss by more than 7 million popular votes and by 306-232 in the Electoral College. Yet some veterans running for office have used their military records to add credence to their false claims—undermining faith in the very systems they swore to defend.

This I find very concerning.

I like to think that the majority don't really believe this, and are only doing it to garner support.  If they are, in my opinion this raises concerns with their integrity and moral courage.

Well said.  I've had the same thoughts that they are just using election denial to court votes.

I think it's deeper than that, and more sinister.

What exactly do you think they are doing?

Undermining our democratic republic.

As expected Florida has remained Red.  Congrats to DeSantis and Marco Rubio.

It's not even 9:00pm and we know this.  Florida is not going to be a state that you will not know the results rather quickly.

I can take comfort that my representative for my neighborhood which has been gerrymandered out of the city to make the city red, remains represented by a Democrat.
