I am looking for a healthy drink or shake to use during those days that never end. No time for breakfast and lunch never happened. Have small blender at work, but can't find anything that sustains me. Any input is much appreciated .

Since I've had never ending GI issues I have discovered some great liquid solutions. Even when I felt well, I'd always have one on hand at work in the ER for those days when you might get 15 minutes out of 12 hours for yourself! There are three that I use depending on availability and mood. The first is Odwalla and they are made all natural (in refrigerator section). I usually get the one called Protein Monster...chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry...they can have up to 25 GM of protein along with other vitamins and they taste good. They also have B Monster (blueberry) and C Monster (strawberry) which I drink during the peak flu/cold season. The other two are Boost High Protein and Special K high protein...I think they have around 15 GM of protein plus a lot of vitamins.

These all have a good taste, have a lot of vitamins and protein, fill you up, and help hydrate you at the same time! Hope this helps.

LOL! Boy did I misinterpret your headline!! Drink or shake, I thought you meant as in drink alcohol or shake from withdrawal! ;)

Baaaahaaahaaah! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose sideways little brain interpreted the OP's title in the same way.

(I see you work Emergency services. I think those of us with a background in that field tend to be a bit warped.)

Personally, I like Core Power. It has more natural ingredients then other ready-made shakes that I have found and it's packed with nutrients and protein. It's hard to find, but I found it at Sprouts Market. Sometimes I don't even have the time to make a shake, much less drink it when I'm working. I can slam this down during a morning break and make it until lunch time.

Eas in cafe caramel is one of my faves. Gnc has 25gm powder to mix with water. They taste pretty good, but they are a little frothy.

BSN Syntha-6 protein powder. My favorite flavor is chocolate peanut butter, followed by peanut butter cookie flavor. I have protein funnels with a screw top and bottom so that I can transport two servings of powder to work and get the powder into a water bottle. I have recently started taking my blender ball container to work to use the ice/water machine to make my shakes. I have been drinking shakes in the ED for almost a decade, and I am used to it and find it satisfyingly... far more satisfying than starving when I don't have time to eat!

+1 BSN Syntha-6. My fav is Vanilla Ice Cream.

I carry a shaker bottle with a metal ball in it and just add water when I'm ready to drink it.

I also carry 2 or 3 apples to eat during my 12 hour shift. Still, I have lost around 30 lbs and 4" off my waist during my 2 years on the floor.
