Do I tip an RN performing laser hair removal?

Although I have never had laser hair removal done, I have had microdermabrasion treatments done. If you were satisfied, it is courteous to tip about 10 percent of the price of the service.

When I worked at a med spa, the aesheticians who performed the facials, etc., accepted tips. However, the healthcare professionals such as the nurses or Np's were not allowed by management to accept tips. Maybe it's an ethical principle since we are still healthcare workers? I suppose a customer can always offer to be polite, but likely the professional would be inclined to politely decline :) That is nice of you to ask, though.

Yes, tip them well....haha, just kidding. I think it depends on the environment, tipping is usually done in spas and maybe advanced skin-care centers but not ''medi-spas''. In spas the techs, nurses, therapists are usually paid based on a commission of services performed so tipping is greatly appreciated. In ''medi-spas'' the staff is on contract or hourly paid, I do not think you(or anyone) will be expected to tip an hourly paid nurse, therapist, laser tech etc.... I could be wrong.

From what I hear from others and what my own job has specifically told me we are not allowed to accept gifts, tips/money, etc from patients or family. If they choose to bring us food items that's ok so long as everyone is able to eat it.

I think you would want to ask the facility in question, as it seems to be facility dependent.
