Hello all,

just wondering how a RN-BSN degree from is viewed by hiring managers? Anyone ever had any problems? Considering it's a online program with no brick and mortar university. Any opinions.

Never had a problem.

Happy New Year!!!

Hey Klone I don't know if you could answer a pre-licensing question. Can you check out the thread "Sept 2014 ...Anyone???" There is a question about the 3.0 on the degree.

Check and see if I am correct about it and if there is more please let us know.

Thank you so much!!!!

I have an MSN from and have never had an issue with employment and was accepted into my first choice APRN program. In fact, the ED supervisor at my hospital is currently working on her MSN from WGU.

Let's see...my current chief nursing officer has an online degree. My previous chief nursing officer earned an online MSN from the for-profit giant better known as Walden University. And a former director of nursing education at a school I previously attended earned a BSN and MSN online through the for-profit behemoth better known as University of Phoenix.

In this day and age, many hiring managers have earned online degrees themselves.

Cayenne. I graduated a few months ago from (rn to BSN)-best investment took me two semesters, could have been faster but when I didn't make my goal of completing in one semester I kind of dragged my feet a bit. Anyway, I was accepted to Hunter College (CUNY) Psych NP (yes)..but due to recent changes in their program-its gone from 3 and half semesters to 6 (no...). So I am thinking about just getting my MSN in education at WGU, I wanted to teach pt any way and then go back for an advance certificate. My hesitation is regarding the capstone project. I am currently working as a part-time educator in a local nursing home, they do not have an IRB, how would I proceed and complete the capstone in this situation? Thank You.

The IRB is no longer part of the MSN capstone. :)
