Hi All!

I will be attending El Centro in the Spring for my Pre-Reqs and have avidly been following all the discussions on this board and the other forums. Not to take anything away from this board (since AllNurses is absolutely FABULOUS). I thought I would start a Yahoo Group for nurses in DFW that are attending DCCCD colleges or any other area colleges concerning nursing.

I was hoping that we could set up study groups/outtings with the calender features or anything else we may need for our nursing careers!

Anyhow...if you'd like to join, please use the link below!

Thanks

Michelle

Just curious, what was the cutoff GPA? When I got in, the cutoff was 3.74 with all pre-reqs complete. (that was january of 03). Keep in mind you guys that haven't gotten letters yet.....if you don't get a letter, don't completely count yourself out. When I started the January class of '03, we had 7 people who were not able to start for various reasons, so they immediately got on the phone and admitted a new 7 students from the list.

Yes - I was listed too and ended up getting called by BOTH places!!! DONT count yourselves out yet.

They may have only taken 4.0's so far, BUT the end is yet to come!

I'm sure everyone's either received a letter, or has heard the cut-off GPA's, so I'll post them.

This is what I was told, but I have not received my letter yet:

North Lake: 4.0 GPA on prereq. and 6 support credit with 2.5 GPA

El Centro: 4.0 GPA on prereq. and 9 support credit with 4.0 GPA

Does anyone know if ECC gives you a number if you were denied? I'm just wondering how far down the list I am. I realize there are probably lots more 4.0's waiting to get in ahead of me, but the hope hasn't been diminished completely yet. :)

When I was denied last Spring, I was not given a number on how far down the list I was. They are very vague about that stuff for some reason.

AT one of the schools that ended up calling me - I was supopsedly # 22. Pretty far down the list...

Hey Funnie,

I wouldn't give up until the 1st day of class for the Spring semester. A lot could change between now and January. Keep up the positive attitude, I'm sure you'll be rewarded. :)
