CSULA Fall 2021

Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.

I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

I’m uploading my documents but I’m confused because there’s one section that has Shadowing/Healthcare Experience and the other that’s Certification. If I put a letterhead of my hours in Certification then what should I put    for Shadowing/Healthcare Experience? Just a brief statement of what experience I have?

Your letter head should go under health care experience and under certificates is like CNA, EMT, etc things like that showing your certificate in that.

Hi everyone! Current Csula Pre-nursing student  planning to apply for the BSN program in Fall 2021!

Stats:

Pre Req GPA: 4.0 (went ahead and took A&P II in the Summer to take micro in the fall)

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

TEAS overall: 77%
English: 91

Reading: 71

( I heard they prioritize the English and reading section) Nervous because I have heard of low gpas getting in but not low TEAS.

Volunteer experience: 100+ hours caregiving for a dialysis patient

backup schools: csub, csusb, msmu & plu.

I have “local preference” and also attend the school but I heard all 1.5k+ applicants are sorta grouped into this lottery.

Goodluck to everyone that is applying!! ?

I'm right there with you on the TEAS, it's frustrating to score lower than you wanted to. I wonder if admissions will take note of how easy it is to miss 3 in one section and have it tank your grade... That's what happened to me in the English portion! I missed 3 out of 9 in one area and it hurt a lot. Oh well, let's hope for the best! ?

do we only put achievements that we got during college?

Hi guys, on the NursingCAS website under volunteer experiences--did anyone else notice that it says to report hours completed by "January 2020"? Do you guys think that it was a typo and should have been January 2021? I completed my volunteer hours this September and am unsure what to put in the box. Thanks so much!

What I found said “Volunteer experience-50 or more hours from 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2020”

Does anyone know the deadline for when we need to submit our official transcripts to NursingCAS? I already submitted the NursingCAS application for CSULA but I am still waiting on Fall 2020 grades to post so I can send 2 final transcripts ?  I think my professors are still working on them/really busy.

Does anyone know how to order transcripts if you attended multiple schools within LACCD ?

I was wondering the same thing. I tried attaching a CC transcript with only one class, and the system says "it's too empty/small." I emailed ----------------- and called. I hope she replies. I'll update if she does. But in the meantime, if someone knows the answer, please comment! Thank you so much. I hope everyone had a nice holiday!

OK thank you I’m still going to try to submit my application even if I don’t have my transcripts
