CPNE workshop...

What CPNE workshop is everyone attending...I was just looking into them and not sure which one to go through....I'm trying to do the most affordable route. Even though some of them are cheaper, the cost that it'll take to travel will equate to the same cost. I am not yet eligible for the CPNE and I hope I'm not jinxing myself by talking about it already, but I do know that I have to register for the workshop in advance. Thanks for your help in advance!

You're right...that sounds like teaching to me.

EC workshops have long had the reputation of being more validation-oriented vs. teaching, but from what I've heard over the last 4 years, they will definitely teach anything that needs teaching! I think students should come having done some prep at home, though -- like a very thorough read of the CPNE study guide.

I did two workshops (yes, I truly overstudy for everything) -- Lynn's workshop at the beginning, and Tina Logan's workshop two weeks before my CPNE in 2008. Passed the first time, failed one PCS for a bonehead error. But anyway ... for those who cannot afford a workshop, one of the most important things you can do is study with another student, either in person or via Skype, as some of the people on the EPN do. Oh, and visit the EPN! Your peers will help you.

I just went to an excelsior workshop last week and I don't see why they say it isn't a teaching they showed us all of the skills and how to do them. They went over assessments, vital signs and where to place stethoscope for resp. They showed you how to do all of the skills. They also went over ng's and placement and infants. It was a very good workshop they go over everything you need to pass the cpne including documentation. I hope this helps.

sorry didn't realize I posted so many times.

Where do they have the Excelsior CPNE workshop? I suppose in NY?

Thanks for your help on this Ramore! So you feel that Excelsior gave adequate help with care plans? This is one area I do feel very weak. Are you able to write up care plans and have someone go over them with you, explain your errors? Thanks again :)

I am going to Sheri Taylors more than likely. She seems so positive and there is a money back gaurentee....and a 97 percent pass rate. I definatley need a review of IVs!
