Is this legal?
thanks scrapbookingmom2! @jan..thanks for the input...i assume that i could get a lawer and pursue something, but i don't want to be "that person", ya know? and they only reason they told me that they wouldn't hire me is because i directly asked them if they would hire graduates from excelsior.

Yes, I have a great relationship with my current nursing staff. Human Resources is the one making this decision...I got complimented all the time by my patients saying how great of a nurse I was going to be. :-)..oh well though, time to move forward

Thanks for the chat...I have applied elsewhere, but the waiting game is getting very frustrating especially because I think if only my current workplace would give me a chance! I've been there over 3 and a half years!

But can they not hire me based on where I graduated from? I did receive my ASN and I have a valid RN license now.

Is this legal?
I am a recently graduated RN and the hospital that I am currently employed at as a nurse assistant will not hire me as a RN because I graduated from Excelsior College. I heard that they had a bad experience with two people who were hired in the past who also graduated from this college. My question is it legal for them not to allow me to apply for a RN job?

Pearsonvue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 3
Took NCLEX yesterday morning...got all 265 questions and took me about 3 hours. Came home (about a 45 minute drive) and tried the PVT and got the "good pop up"!! I'm so excited about it...but still anxiously awaiting my actual results...I keep re-checking the PVT for the "good pop up" and keep checking my state for license verification, my status is still pending! The wait is driving me crazy. But I'm definitely happy that I had the PVT to help ease my pass or fails nerves! But I'm happy to unofficially announce I'm a ->

Don't know what's going on...
Loops, It was such a relief when CPNE was over and I was excited on that Sunday, but in so much shock and I guess that shock has just carried along the last couple weeks...I do feel lost not having the studying routine that I had. You will get through it and it is totally worth is!

Don't know what's going on...
Lunah, everything you wrote makes sense! On my days off I would devote the first half of my day studying...now on my days off I just throw myself in front of the television. And I must say I miss studying...it was something that I knew I would/have to do. Hopefully within the next couple weeks I can get on the NCLEX bandwagon. Oh and about the BSN....next May I'm going to sign up for the RN to MSN program.
