clinic nurses pay

how much does a clinic nurse make?

Featured Replies

It varies. Is it a private practice? In this instance, the salary might be the same as a hospital nurse, but the benefits might not be there. What I've found is that clinics that are hooked up with hospitals usually have the best pay and benefits package.

It depends on the area in which you reside.

In my area, clinic nurses typically earn $7 to $10 less per hour than their counterparts who are employed in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and agencies.

I make a dollar more then the hospital nurses do (I work clinic) but I do not get shift diffs or OT. Its a quality of life thing for me. I get weekends and all paid holidays off.

In my area it's pretty low but my state is the lowest paying state for nurses. I get about $3 less an hour than bedside or LTC. I have full benefits, usually work 8:30 to 5 (although occasionally it's a bit later), always get lunch, never have to lift more than a few pounds, sit at a desk while working quite a bit, and really enjoy my work. I can't say the same about bedside or LTC. They deserve to get paid more because they work much harder.

$12 for an LPN in a pediatric clinic associated with the hospital.

I work full time nights, and have been a nurse since 2005. With shift differential, I make 36.16/hr

I think it also depends on what you do in a clinic. My friend from NS is an RN on the procedure side of the clinic and floats to the clinic side every once and awhile. She gets paid very well for what she does and it's very comparable to what hospital nurses make. She also has full benefits and a 4 day workweek as well with no holidays, weekends or nights.

I interviewed for a family practice clinic associated with a hospital. As an RN, I was offered $12.00/hr. I told her I can't work for less than $20 since at the time I was working in a hospital for a base bay of $21.00 and I've been a nurse for 6 years. She upped her offer to $14. needless to say, I didn't take the job.

As an RN, I was offered $12.00/hr.
In my area, unionized supermarket clerks earn up to $17 hourly.

$12, or even $14 hourly, for an RN is a tragic joke.

I work in a county mental health clinic and I make about $4000 a month...It's less than I made in a hospital but I get all the holidays, weekends, and nights off, and I get MUCH more time with my patients...PLUS I work with 2 AWESOME Nurse Practitioners and a WONDERFUL psychiatrist.:D

are you sure as a clinic nurse, they only pay $12 an hour? does anyone know the pay salary for an clinic nurse?

As mentioned before, pay rates depend on the part of the country you live in. Yes, there are parts of the country where clinic nurses only get $12 unfortunately. There is a lot of competition for them so the employer has the upper hand. You have to decide if the trade off is good enough. Clinic nurses as a whole usually work only 8 hours days, 5 days a week, no weekends, no holidays, little lifting, & a whole lot less stress. They don't have to take care of 6 (or more) patients at one time, or pass meds to 50 as some do in LTC. So far, I've not been pooped on, peed on, vomited on, and have not had one die on me. Now I suppose that can happen but so far so good. And the heaviest thing I have had to lift is a portable nebulizer machine, maybe 10 lbs?

I make 2/3 of what I made at my last job. For me the trade off was difinately worth it.
