For years I have tried to wear watches and they ALWAYS stop working on me.
I gave up for a long time but this past fall I bought the cheapest one I could find and started wearing it. To my suprise it told the time for about 6 months. However last week it stoped working... as all the buttons had broke off (cheap) I threw it away and got another one that is the same thing. I wore it for 2 hours and it "froze" so I took it back to the store and last night got another one. Now this watch is loosing time it is an hour behind.
I have always had this problem and it is not the watch batteries as they test them in the store and say they are fine and they don't know why the watch stoped.
My dad also has this problem.
Anyone else have this problem? What do you do about it? Is there any certain brand that you have had more success with? I use my watch all the time at work and I really need one!
Any idea why I seem to do this to watches?!?! Its weird... and annoying!

It's probably from wear and tear- always banging around on bed rails and such, and washing your hands a lot.
I work in LTC and I hardly ever need a watch because the residents all have them. But I've been thinking about getting one for around my neck. Look at this one- http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Wise+and+Watchful+Eyes+Necklace it's so cute.

Difference between cheap and expensive I suppose. I've had watches under $50 break the next day, I've never had problems with a Swiss or Ecodrive...
I wore a Swiss that I got at a sporting goods store for $75 through my entire military career, it saw everything from rapelling to being covered in water and mud.

I got a waterproof Timex from Target or other department store-I've had mine for years-stretchy band was important so I could take it off easily and put in my pocket if needed.

I was given an ugly watch that I hated at first. It does have the date and day on it which is really helpful. It is Citizen. I tried to break it so I could replace it and not make the person who gave it to me feel bad.
The Citizen is unbreakable! The crystal cracked, but that was it. I still wear it and it keeps excellent time.
So my advice is to get an ugly watch you don't like. They never break.

You might be the rare person like me, whose watches quit working due to your body somehow killing the batteries. I could NEVER use a regular battery operated watch; every single one quit on me, despite my not having done a thing to break them. I got a watch from my husband that is very pricey but NOT battery-operated by Citizen, and it's not quit in 3 years yet.
Invest in a good watch, that is not battery operated and watch your situation change. It worked for me. IT will be costly, as compared to standard watches, but WELL worth your investment.

i ve been told my maternal grandmother couldnt wear a watch either....and that would have been a wind up one...lol. But that is what i would try, if you can find one....good luck
Citizen ecodrive is solar powered. Seiko kinetoco works on movement of your arm for the charge

I am wearing a Pulsar -- don't know the model number, but it is WATERPROOF (I wear it all the time except to shower... including swimming, fishing, and jetsking...) I never have any problem with it.

Watches won't run on me. I can keep one in my pocket and it seems to be okay, but if it is on my wrist within a couple of hours it begins losing time and if I don't take it off it quits running for good. Is annoying, but something I have gotten used to lol.
Have a great evening!
