Can anyone help me out?

  • Experts

I am looking for hospitals that offer the rotation type of new grad programs that rotate new grads through several units, instead of having to choose a specialty right away. Does anyone know of any? Thanks in advance! I am willing to relocate anywhere, and specifically want a place that exposes new grads to more than one unit.

Check out any hospital's float pool. I don't know if many hospitals have them. My first job as a new grad was at a Kaiser, I was two nights on a surgical floor and two nights in the float pool. Most hospitals love a nurse who will float to other units.

try John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore

You can also look at the versant programs that are offered in many hospitals around the country. They float new grads to other units that their "home unit" patient may have come from or be down graded to.

Go to versant.org to check them out. It sounds like a really cool program!
