Brookhaven Fall 2019

Anyone applying for Fall 2019? I know it seems far away, but the application is due the end of Feb. It is best we begin to prepare now, especially those who need immunizations.

I need:

Critical thinking exam.

Retake Hesi for a higher competitive score.

Dosage calculations workshop.

I'm taking Chem 1405 and Phil 2306 this fall and Pharma in winter.

vmrose, I have not spent enough time studying for dosage calculation tomorrow so I'm grateful I'll have one more shot in February! I'm strong in math so I think that helps but there's so much more here than that! Can you tell me is it primarily knowing your conversion factors and being able to do the math -- I don't have these million abbreviations memorized yet (ac, DS, ss, HS, etc.) but know the ones that affect the dosage (qid, tid, qd, etc.). Can you give me any more insight on what I should focus on today to feel more prepared for tomorrow? Thanks!

Super easy. I didn't study the packet or buy the book. The first time I went to the workshop, we spent only 1 hour asking the teacher for help. I took the test the same day and made a 87%.

It's basic math. Math isn't my strongest subject and I found it easy. He lets you use your phone calculator.

Hey,

Can someone help me with A&P and Grammar portion of Hesi ? I for some reason can't score more than 70. Please help.

Also, I completed all my pre reqs and shots now just waiting on Hesi exam. I am so scared to score low again :(((((

Hey guys! Im applying for fall 19 as well! I was ready to apply for this spring but my hep b titer came back too low! Totally thought I was in the clear but guess not! But I brought it up with two boosters and I'm ready to apply for the fall! I took the Hesi and made a 90 overall but Im gonna retake because I'm pretty sure I can do better. Also soooo glad they took away the critical thinking exam.

Wow, can you help me out with hesi exam especially A&P part

Hey everyone! My name is Sarah and I'm also planning to apply for fall of 2019. I completed all of the prerequisite and support courses in the fall 2018 semester. I'm taking the dosage exam tomorrow (SO nervous!) and am planning to retake the HESI (I scored an 88 the first time because I rushed through in order to get to work on time).

I'm so excited to apply!

As far as HESI prep, download the PocketPrep HESI a2 app on your phone - I promise it is 100% worth it to pay for the full version.

It gives you questions that are from the HESI exams and provides good explanations for the answers. I felt it really helped refresh AP, grammar and vocab. Overall, the HESI is easy, just don't overthink the questions.

Also, I can't explain how happy I am that they did away with the critical thinking exam....that test was a joke.

I posted some helpful practice quizzes that you can print. Look on page 1 or 2 of this thread. ?

Gosh unbelievable they removed critical thinking. Now I have to get at least 90 on hesi to get qualified.

How does everyone think they did on the dosage calculations yesterday? It was better than I thought it was going to be! I blanked on two of the questions! The true/false ones that asked about whether they flow rates would be correct or not. I'm glad there weren't more of those on the test! I looked on eCampus and I don't see a spot for grades to be posted under the dosage calculation workshop. Did anyone else see that?

I signed up for the HESI February 15 but I have to change my date. We're having family come in on the 14th for the weekend so I'll have to take it sooner. Which also means I better have done really well yesterday so I don't have to take the dosage calculation again on the 16th!

I feel great about it - I stressed SO much over that test and it was super easy. I plan on going to the school sometime this week to sign up for the HESI - have you taken it before?

I have not but for some reason, I’m not that stressed about it. ?

Hey did you look on ecampus under the dosage calculation course? I don’t have a “grades” tab under that course. I guess he’ll just add it?

There 7 questions that I didn't know for sure, including the true or false. I made a 87 last time. I hope I PASSED this time.
