Body Worlds

Has anyone every heard of this or ever been to an exhibit? I just heard about this tonight through a friend of mine. So I went online to see a picture of it and get some more information on it and my goodness I would love to go to one of these exhibits!

If you have gone to one of this was it as interesting as it sounds?? Do tell!! :typing

They are fantastic! The only awkward thing was that when I went, I took my daughter who was eye-level to all the male genitalia. She was quite surprised! haha

You should know that there is some question about how ethically some of the bodies were obtained (certain exhibits). I didn't know that before I went.

It is an interesting exhibit for anyone, although the basic organs and stuff didnt thrill me b/c I have already seen that stuff many times. The information is real basic on how each system works, which as a healthcare provider, you already know, so it might just be a review. I did like the bodies taken down to the peripheral vascular and nervous system only. That was amazing for me. Go see it, it will be fun.

Oh I want to see it so bad, But Boston is the closet city. And it doesnt look like they are going there anytime soon. So Id have to travel to Maryland to see it. Maybe, Id really love to see it. It sounds extremely interesting. Just reading about it fascinates me.

I can imagine it being controversial. But Its Science. So what isn't?

But If I can get the chance to go, im definetly going!! Thanks for your input!! :):)

Seen it in Las Vegas last fall. Very fascinating exhibit. I got choked up seeing the newborn babies.

my nursing class went together. it was an invaluable experience. it really put everything together for me way more than a & p did. it is questionable how the bodies were obtained...i don't know the whole story but i really enjoyed it as well did my classmates and i think it was worth every penny.

Loved it! Definitely go see it if you get the chance. I would love to go again.

It is absolutely amazing!

I just went to it about a month ago. I also saw a few years ago.

Very interesting and very educational.

I truly wish I could have seen this exhibit when I went to Nursing school.

There were allegations about no informed consent and use of executed prisoners, I believe...

Saw it in Tampa with my daughter at Mosi. Loved it! Thought it was very well presented....very interesting.

Recently saw a special stating that the bodies may have been obtained illegally, it so it's a shame. What they did was amazing and I believe valuable as a learning tool.

I just saw it last month in Atlantic City. It was truly remarkable. My favorite was the male who was standing toe to toe and fingertip to fingertip with his own skeleton. The exhibit of cancerous lung was pretty graphic for smokers. Another interesting exhibit was a body cut into saggital sections. The neonatal exhibit has a sign before you go in that leads you around it if you think it would bother you. I heard that some of the bodies were illegally obtained but I also heard people were giving permission to use their bodies after death as well. I think it is worth seeing for anyone. especially those in health care.:coollook:

I saw it in the wonderful city of Dallas, TX. It was very interesting. It was very crowded though so I missed a few things. Take your time when you go. Lot's to see!
