I don't think there's a single quality, as all the ones you've mentioned are important.

I totally agree. I think that all of the qualitites that you listed are important Molly...however, common sense will take you a long way (and you can sure tell when you are working with those with it.)

Isn't that the truth! I can remember about 8 hours into my shift that I hadn't gone to the bathroom. The joke on our floor is that if you can hold it, you will be a great nurse! :rotfl: At the end of 12 hours, I can hardly walk to my car. :stone

How many nurses know how to do the "potty dance"????? lol Is it a prerequisite to being a nurse????

DEFINITELY! That is EXACTLY the problem I notice with some of the new nurses hired on my floor! I mean I'm a new nurse but the recent nurses hired it's they have all the qualties mentioned in the op but can't put everthing together and that is what is is NO COMMON SENSE!
