BCIT August 2013 Applicants

Hello future nurses,

I am so excited to be starting nursing at BCIT in August!

For future applicants: To have a strong application make sure you have work experience, volunteer experience (preferably healthcare), as well as liberal arts courses - my Psych 241 at SFU transferred over as a libs course and I will find out if any other courses of mine transfer over once I send them an updated transcript.

I am going to be going in with a completed BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology, but a full degree is not necessary, just at least 60 credits to be competitive!

Anyone else defer to August?

Hi everyone!!! To me, the 4 questionnaire that we had to fill out seems like an interview, just like how UBC Nursing does their applicants. Doing interview online is way better in person, consider it gives you the time to think about what you are going to say and it saves the BCIT Nursing selection committee time...you know...interviewing 176 applicant will probably take at least 1 month. As for contacting the reference, they probably will contact them. I know this because my volunteer manager told me that she knows about the BCIT nursing reference procedure, that is, emailing the reference people and request them to fill out few questionnaires. Hope this helps everyone! :D GOOD LUCK!!!

They only had to fill out sheets in previous intakes because there was no questionnaire.

Roughly less than a month until we find out!!

The wait is killing me!!

Is anyone as antsy as I am and driving all their friends and family crazy with the constant counting down of days till we should hear back from BCIT??

I sure am anxious!! My friends n family keep asking me when will u know?!?! Haha

Hahaha! I feel the same way you guys! Hang in there, possibly 2 weeks left 'til we hear something

Did BCIT contact any of your references?

someguy604: Nope, nothing on my end so far.

I'm thinking they probably won't contact references unless your answers on the questionnaire sounds like a hoax. They don't really have the time to contact all 170+ applicant's references and each applicant would probably have at least 2 references.

Not that I know of either. I agree with chiseen. I don't think they will.

Only 9 more days until I think we will find out! :nailbiting: (I've been quessing it will be April 25)

I'm so nervous you guys, this month just flew so quickly. I would really like it if we were all accepted, I'm sure we'd be great nursing students and be an awesome grad class! I'll pray for us all

I keep feeling like 25th will be when e-mails start going out as well.

Just over a week!!! :nailbiting:

Finding it hard to concentrate on studying for finals!

Guys did they email you last time when your status changed... I just want to know if theres a point in me continuously checking myBCIT.
