Any suggestions on a good backpack that wont break your back? I am thinking one on wheels, but don't know what to get.
P.S. Soooooo excited to start nursing school!!!

Go check out the zuca website I got an awesome bag with wheels there. It's actually more like a locker on wheels lol. Definitely worth the money for a nursing student, with all the heavy books. It will totally save your back!

If your getting a backpack, I wouldnt personally get one with wheels. Get one that has strong material....you'll know by the feel of it. Try and get one that has a big pocket at the back for books etc but then other pockets so you can organise your stuff...a pocket for stationary , a pkt for keys, a pocket for lunch etc. Also see if you can get one with a rain cover that you can pull out and over your bag to keep your books dry if it rains. :) :)

I have an LL Bean backpack that I like! It has a waist strap to buckle around your waist for stability...

Get a good hiking backpack. Just a one day or day hike size, nothing too much bigger. I love mine and I always use it for hiking on the days off.

for the zuca rolling backpack, did you order a sport or a pro. Any inserts? Can a 3-ring binder fit in it?
Thanks for the help,

I ordered the high sierra power glide. It's a rolling backpack. I don't have far to walk but I put all my books for just one class in my regular backpack and could hardly stand up. I'm too old to kill my back now. I might never recover if I pull something:)

I have a High Sierra that is no longer made but it's also on wheels. It's very similar to their Freewheel rolling backpack. I've used it for 6 semesters now for pre/co reqs and it shows no sign of wear. It's a good size and holds a lot, including up to a 17" laptop. We'll really put it to the test now with all those nursing books!

We were already told that we will not be required to carry every book to class so you may want to check and see if that is the same for you.
I bought a North Face backpack to keep my binder, laptop, and main book in and the rest of my books I keep in a plastic crate in the trunk of my car. Makes no sense to be carrying all your books if you will not be using them.

I was told the opposite - that we'd be required to have all our books . . . now do I believe that's the reality? No. However, on my one class day a week I will have a class in the morning and then another class in the afternoon. It's a good 25 miles for me to drive home (one way) so I imagine I'll be staying in town at school or a coffee shop studying. I could always keep extra books in my car but if I'm studying I hate having to run back and forth because I don't have something I need. I got several of my books on my iPad so that will help . . . I can theoretically carry everything in the rolling backpack plus lunch if I want. The good part is if I don't have too much of a load I can hide the wheels and just use it as a regular pack. I've heard they aren't super comfortable that way but I'm at a satellite campus so I really don't have far to walk at all. Everybody's needs are different though.

I second getting a backpack from North Face. I got the north face surge back pack and its really durable. Tons of padding for your back as well as laptop protection, plenty of pockets(my favorite is at the bottom theres a pocket for a power cord), and it is also very useful for outdoor things. I love mine. :) Ofcourse, they are on the pricey side. But are worth it in my opinion.
Hope I helped.

I have a tagus backpack, it fits my books and laptop easy......but I hate carrying all that stuff....soon I realized the benefit of my trunk....I keep my textbooks there and just carry my binder and pencil case (my back loves me for this).
