Hello everyone,
I just wanted to check in. Going on 7 years sobriety and back in school for my MSN. It's week 4 of very first semester and am stuck in selecting a concept for my concept analysis paper. It's very hard not wanting to do something in addiction considering "the promises" I have been blessed with. My instructor kind of suggested not to do such a difficult concept because it's bordering on a diagnosis.
Don't want to bore you with school details more that I wanted to check in and it's very surreal and profound that I am here back in school for the third time: ADN to BSN and now here for my MSN. I remember being here on same campus for BSN 8 years ago at the height of my disease. Grateful to be sober.
For those just checking in or are new to some mandatory program, it does get better. Free of alcohol and of any mind-altering substances. One thing I want to add, an MD joined my home meeting little less than a year ago. I told him it's awesome he's still coming. Most MDs I see leave after their fulfillment of their court card. We've become friends now in fact he's part of our men's text group that check in everyday throughout the day to make sure everyone is good.
Pray that everyone is doing well and just keep coming back ; )

Hey there,
I got your PM but I can't respond there so here I go! Thank you for your PM, so far I'm just trying to follow their directions. Thank you for the response about the soy sauce, I am nervous about all of the foods with small amounts of alcohol! I will make sure to test in the morning and eat some yogurt or an egg. I have been to one nurse support group so far and I'm just trying to adjust to everything. I have been enjoying the NA meetings as they help me stay positive. I would be lying if I said this was easy, but I have stopped crying so much...I'm taking it one day at a time. Thank you for checking up on me! Please continue to do so. I hope you are doing well! Thanks!
-Sincerely, M2185
