ATT only valid for 3 months...what if you don't pass?

I just received my ATT and noticed that it's only valid for three months...for some reason I thought it was good for a year.

What happens if you have to retake the exam? Do you get another ATT?

Thank you,

Australian educated American girl.

i don't believe that you can work as a nurse if you fail test

look on the bright side..you will probably pass with flying colors and get your license

Yes, you would apply for another ATT.

another 200 bucks

unfortunately yes, another 200 bucks for ATT. plus the retake fee of $75.00(super sad face)

Kinda off topic but seemed to be a good place to ask this as well. Has anyone else had to pay for a license as well as the test each and every time they applied for a new ATT after not passing the NCLEX?

have you been told by one of the state boards that you have to do the extra courses in ob, peds, and psych ?

rags,

I have taken NCLEX twice and have had to pay the fee for license and the exam each time

Me too ivtherapypct. It seems wrong, but I wanted to be an RN, so ... I paid. The only difference is that I paid it 3 times. I finally passed it my 3rd attempt so don't have to EVER worry about that again! Thank goodness!!!!

The ATT is good for 3 months or until you take NCLEX, whichever happens FIRST. If you fail you work at something else till you take the test again and pass. Remember, more than 80% of grads pass the first time!

the us requires that all rns be generalists, not specialists that you may be considered in your country, same as with the uk. required courses need to be completed if they were not in your training for all 50 states. and you need to meet that requirement to get a visa screen certificate as well.

the att is only good for one testing, expires after it is used. you will need to repay the fee. sounds like you went thru vermont for initial licensure.

It is actually 85% for American grads, and only 45% for foreign grads.
