Are you applying to the May 2011 RN program at MCI VA BEACH????

Anyone out there applying to the RN program at the Virginia Beach MCI campus? My older sister just graduated from MCI and has already landed her first job! The wait to see if I am accepted or not is absolutely killing me. Anyone else???

fingers crossed for everyone!

Good luck everyone! I'm rooting for all of you.

Just an FYI...one of my friends did call her advisor this weekend who said they still had some interviews to wrap up this week. So don't be worried about not being called today.

You should be hearing soon - I got a call today that I'm in for days. Hope to see you all at orientation.

Just got the call! I got in!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited! Best of luck to everyone else!!!!:)

I'm in for days!!

Good luck with your studies guys! I suggest reading a A&P for Dummies book, Reading a Micro for Idiots book, those kinds of things. I did that before I started and I am now a straight A student. You will get your A&P book at orientation and I would highly recommend reading the first 3-5 chapters that weekend.

There is also an A&P class from Berkley posted on Youtube by Marion, I don't remember her last name. I watched almost all of those and they helped a lot. I was coming from electronics so I needed all the help I could get!

Oh and if you can go out in town to do your CPR and AED through the AHA you will be ahead. You can also start your nursing school physical with your doctor.

I know this sounds like a lot in a little time, but it will help you big time to be prepared! These are my best tips for new students.

Congrats!

Thank you so much for your advice :)

I am in for days as well :)

I've already got A&P I/II, micro, both english comps, and sociology out of the way. They accepted everything that I wanted to transfer. I'd have been sad if I had to retake them, especially micro since that's what I did my B.S in! Since I won't have much going on initially, I wouldn't mind staying in touch with everyone by helping folks out with studying. It would be a good refresher for me, too.

CareerStudent - has your schedule stayed consistent with the curriculum outline, or have classes been moved around? Based on the curriculum I was given, the ONLY class I have during the first 3 mods is freshman orientation.

Hi, ladies! I've been lurking, but haven't made an account until now. Just wanted to congratulate everyone who has been accepted...I just got my phone call today - so, I'll be seeing you day class students on May 6th! :D I'm a PN alumni, so I'll be happy to help any way I can for people who have questions or just need a study buddy !

microkate - freshman orientation is basically a 'filler' class. for the pn program, it was learning about the nurses who made a difference, Florence Nightingale etc. Learned the basics/beginnings of nursing....I think we may even did some math in that class? It was ridiculously easy lol...so no worries!

Thanks, LCSnowdon. I figured it would be pretty basic since it's a 1 credit P/F class. I had to take Bio Freshman Seminar for my BS, so probably similar. It seems silly to have to take, but it is what it is...
