At least it stayed '05 for many of us - only two years to go!! :icon_roll Hope it doesn't take a giant leap back again - though I won't hold my breath!

My PD is JUN05 so hopefully now after a long wait we might progress
Congrats. Hopefully, it at least stays at that cut-off date or even move forward a bit more in the coming months to close out your case. Keep us updated.

Surely you should be hearing about your interview soon. Fingers crossed for you.
Just a thought, but why not give them a call? Nothing lost by making an enquiry to the Embassy call centre.
Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

They processed 6 months despite a zillion of AOS applications (I wonder if those were processed too)... I say they did a great job yet again. :)

Not necessarily. In fact, when you do a research on the internet on why the dates are moving forward the immigration lawyers seems to be in agreement that it is precisely because USCIS is not coping up on the AOS side. If USCIS does, there won't even be much forward movement at all since there are over 800,000 pending AOS cases (dependents included) and they even came up with a early estimate that it may take them no later than 2010 to process all that. This may also be the reason why they are proposing a 3 year expiration for the EAD instead of letting it renew every year since they are expecting the AOS cases to be not finish by at least 2010.
The US Dept. of State wants all visas to be used up so that there won't be any unused visas anymore w/c they started doing last year. They just over did it last year. Hence, the July VB fiasco. Once they get a feel that USCIS won't be able to use up all the visas, w/c I now know that they never do all these years, they will move the dates forward so that the Consular Offices abroad can pick up the slack to make sure the visas do not get wasted. There are over 800,000 pending AOS cases and with USCIS' long history of not even able to use up the annual 140,000 visas on their own, the US Dept. of State decided to move the dates forward so that the consular offices can pick up the slack. Once the 140,000 visas are exhausted, they will retrogress the dates again so it is really impt. that once the dates moves forward and one's PD gets current that they act on it so that the case gets closed out. If the case wasn't closed-out and the cut-off dates move backward again, then they get stuck on it again until the next fiscal year when they do the cycle once more.
