I start 8/18 and I feel like it's a year away!! My orientation is on the 21st and I'm even excited for that! I have had to stop myself from buying scrubs and stethoscopes just so that I could feel like I was doing something! But the truth is, I don't even know what my school wants,or really even anyone who has been there' and thats probably whats making it the hardest is not knowing !!! Trust me, I know EXACTLY what you're talking about.
I just try to break the time up to make it go faster...for example: With orientation being a little over two wks away on the 21st, I might tell myself something like "After this weekend, I'm going to spend a week in miami, next week we are having company and by the time they leave, orientation will be the next day".
Pretty pathetic I know but it actually helps with the anxiety. I think that once I go to orientation, meet the teachers and find out what the school is about, that will help me a great deal. Right now it's fear of the unknown that is positively driving me insane!! Hang in there though because I'm pretty sure that once school starts we'll all be on here wishing it will end!
Good Luck

:loveya: Time is ticking. I start on Sept. 2nd and starting to get nervous. I've wanted this for so long and its finally about to be here. I just want to say lets enjoy our free time now because for the next 12, 15, 18 or 21 months we are going to be on the grind.
Hang in there and just keep your eye on the prize.

I'm with you all. I was told on May 16th that July 11th was going to be my last day of work. I'm being laid off. I have been counting down work days ever since. I currently have 5 days left and cannot wait. My orientation is on the 22nd and I am just trying to keep from buying things until then. My school starts on 8/4. I cannot wait!
Hey I got laid off right before I found out I was accepted too and just like you I was counting the days until the last. Let me tell you...It was the best thing that ever happened to me!!! I was already planning on quitting so that I could focus on school but when they beat me to it, I became qualified for unemployment and it looks like that will be carrying me throughout school!!! (or at least most of it!) 39 wks!!
Be Happy & Count Your Blessings!
Good Luck To All!

hahhha!!! Same here! I work as a CNA now, but will be leaving that job to go to school. My husband and I figure it will be better for me to devote my attention to my schooling. Money will be tight, but so worth it in the end! I start Sept.2 and CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am waiting to find out if I got into the LPN program at Pioneer Pacific College. I will find out by the 18th of this month and then I will start around the 20th of August. I am fairly confident that I will get in because I have full points on my entrance test and my GPA. My letters of recomendation are excellent and in my opinion my essay was gold.
So keep your fingers crossed for me as I slowly watch the next 11 days go by. Tick tock.
