Any Fastaff nurses?

Is their take home pay really as high as they say it is or is there a catch? Do they deduct housing, M&I and travel from your take home pay? It seems too good to be true.

I'm not a Fastaff nurse, but I know one that is and she does get paid nicely. Note however that Fastaff is a rapid response agency, which means they are filling a more urgent staffing need and thus hours worked and pay are higher than assignments available through other agencies. I have also heard that Fastaff should never be considered for someone just starting out in travel due to the intense nature of their assignments.

Yea, I recently met a traveler who uses FT. She is taking home a beautiful Net and her housing is at an Extended Care. But she earns every penny! She works 4-12's and has been working those hours for FAstaff for a year. She said its all worth it bc the more she works, the less she spends. She said that every 13 weeks, she could save 20k. She now had 80k in the bank.

Hey I'm currently on my first travel assignment with Fastaff and my experience has been great! I have a great recruiter that takes care of me and always responds to my questions and concerns. I'm staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton and not a penny is taken from my paycheck. They also cover travel expenses separately from your pay. I was at first nervous because everyone says not to consider Fastaff as your first assignment, but I have nothing but good things to say. I do agree with the above post, even though you make a good check you work hard for it. I work 4 12s night shift and it does get pretty exhausting. I'm near the end of my contract and they want me to extend. I'm trying to negotiate working 3 12s instead with the opportunity to pick up shifts if I want.

Fastaff contracts are usually based on 48 hours and they calculate margins and expenses on that basis. You may have to take a hourly pay cut if you work just 36.

I don't mind the 4 12s because I usually do 4 days (mostly in a row) at my staff job. I always volunteered for overtime. But that's a plus. I don't mind busting my butt and passing out in a big pile of money!

I am new to travel nursing. It was my understading that they give you housing placement... does this mean that you are gonna live in a a hotel for 3months? I have a small dog. How am I gonna do that?

I have a cat. The hotel is charging me $150 a month. Otherwise I'd have to board her for 2 months and that's $36 a day.

I've registered for Fast Staff and I really like this agency. I've never done travel nursing before but at the event I attended everyone was friendly and I liked my hotel. Many of the travel nurses had worked with each other before. I'm looking forward to working with FS and making a good paycheck. :D

I did an assignment with fastaff. Yes, the rate per hour is actually your rate, however it is all taxed. The housing is fully paid for by them, nothing out of pocket, unless you have to pay a pet fee. I was given a one bedroom at a residence inn, which was big, had a little kitchen a bedroom and living area. I worked 4 12's so the OT was great, however you will get taxed heavily on it.
