Accepted!

I just received my acceptance letter this morning to the UCF Accelerated Second-Degree program.

I know other people are still waiting to hear back from the schools that they applied to so stay positive. Good luck!

Congratulations!!

Hey congrats, I too just got accepted recently

Congrats guys, can I ask what kind of grades you got in your pre-reqs? I know I'm not coming out of it with straight A's so I was curious as to how they were with accelerated bsn programs. Thanks!

The accelerated BSN program that I'm starting up in a month looked strictly at our overall GPA as well as our admissions essay and two letters of recommendation. My overall is slightly higher than a 3.5....but I'm sure that the letters of recommendation helped a ton too! I was fortunate to have one of the two professors who wrote my recommendation letters make a copy of what he said in it, and it was all such awesome stuff! So, if you're school of choice requires the recommendation letters, just make sure to find people who have nothing but positive things to say about you. It also helps if they are professors in your science pre-requisites! At least, that is the way it went with the school I'm going to start going to....in 16 months from now, I'll be graduating (if all goes well :) )

Congrats to you. I just finally got my letter today. Of all Days on April fools day which is good for me because it is also my wedding anniversary. Yup that is true. My husband thought it would be cute and that day in the year 2000 it fell on a Saturday. So hat party to you and me and everyone else starting this fall or very soon.:yeah:

Yeah for you, Juls, and congrats on your anniversary, too. It is good you two had good sense of humor about the date. Fun. I was so worried about having my first baby (who was overdue) on April Fools Day that I took 2 doses of castor oil on the 30th of March. She was born on the 31st (just had a birthday!) and averted a April Fool birthday. Phew.

I am waiting on a letter still from a couple bay area schools and on still on some wait lists that probably won't call my number this round. Hopefully I will hear soon, and even more hope that I will get in for fall, but if not, my closets need cleaning and my booty needs toning. It has started taking the shape of this chair! Not pretty.

Congrats again!

Congratulations!!! :wink2:

Hey Hotflashn,

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad your baby as born on the 31st. Happy B-day to you baby. Good luck getting into your schools. I'm still waiting on another school but won't hear back til May. I'm from the bay area too. I'm on the waitlist for a couple of schools here and based on the timeline should have started in Spring 09 but I guess enough people moved on and a spot became available for me this Fall. :lol2: What schools did you apply to? Last year I applied to several schools and this year only applied to one w/lottery and just decided to wait out my time the waitlist. Anyhow, maybe we'll be run into each other in the nursing field. :nurse: Best wishes...

Congrats!!!:D

Juls, how encouraging that you got in when you thought you had another semester "on the bench!" I applied to Solano, Napa, Los Medanos and CSUEB. The first two should open in Spring 09, the last two should give word end of May. You know the drill. I am not holding my breath to get into either of the waitlist schools for fall (though I may be on the boarder) and I have all but forgotten LMC - all my anxiety filled eggs are all in CSUEB's basket. At least I have a safety net with the waitlists. I always feel so bad for people who apply to just one school and don't get in.

I was thinking about applying to some more schools, but I am just so tired of taking classes specific to just one program! Enough already, I will be in when I am in. At least I can sort of see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I am glad you are in! Enjoy your walk on the clouds (while it lasts - LOL)

So, to embellish on my above post written in 2008, my grad ceremony is ten days away. The 12th of August 2012...YaY! Thanks to allnurses.com forums for all the helpful info through this journey.

Next goal: Nurse Anesthesia...si podemos ;).

one victory won; still in battle mode.
