I've been accepted!!!!!!!!

This is the best day of my life! I'm still in shock! BUT I'm nervous about the reality of nursing school.

Yes, I know I won't have a life.

Yes, I know how time consuming it is.

Yes, I know how stressful it can be.

Yes, I know I won't get much sleep.

I'm a hands-on learner though. I can't read a book and ace a test the next day. I'm worried that I won't survive the first semester of nursing school.

I've been a CNA for over a year now and I feel it's helped me on my confidence by communicating to patients.

Can someone please give me the best advice they have?? Like how to prepare, what to buy that may help, what to really expect, etc.

The program I'm in is 15 months. I'll have my RN after that assuming I pass the NCLEX.

Obviously it's accelerated which makes me more nervous. They only accept 50 students and 75% graduate. That scares me because I don't want to be in that 25% that doesn't.

Way to go!!! I can't give you any suggestions, as I'm waiting to hear if I've been accepted. Good luck!!

Congrats!!! I was about to post a similar topic! I just found out I was accepted and now I'm like "Now what?!". I want to be as prepared to succeed as possible. Good luck to you!

Yay! Congrats! And please don't stress yourself out before the program starts. I want you to say this next sentence out loud:

"I will be one of the 75%, because failure is not an option."

Speak it and it will come true! Don't walk into it even entertaining the idea of failure.

Congratulations!!! I am entering an accelerated program too this coming May that is 14 months long. Recently, I read a book called "How to Succeed in Nursing School". It is a light read and I couldn't put it down. It has some AMAZING study tips that I think will help. I am a hands on learner too, so my first portion makes me a little nervous too. The book is only $12 or so and I have attached the link. Congrats everyone and feel confident that you were accepted! It is so competitive out there.

Me too. Congrats! I got my acceptance letter 2 weeks ago and I'm still on cloud 9.

Congrats! My program was 20 months and in about to be finishing it up in May! Don't stress too much, nursing school isn't "hard" it's just hard work! You will have a life, it will just be different. You will be able to get sleep so don't stress yourself out worrying about it. Just get your work done and you WILL pass. It will be fun!

Congrats!! I started a BSN program in Jan of this year and I LOVE IT!! I have been doing really well so far I'm only into an into nursing course so it's been a lot of fun - I have 100% right now in the class :) You will love it. I remember how excited I was to when I found out I was finally accepted! Your hard work paid off!

First off, congrats :D

Secondly, prepare for hell. Plain and simple

I wish you nothing but luck in your endeavors

EDIT: Get a GOOD stethoscope, not those cheap ones. you want to hear as much as possible with your instructor present so if you have any questions you can just ask them.

Another thing, Do NOT sit around in clinical if you have downtime. WHEN YOU ARE IN CLINICAL YOU ARE A WALKING PRESENTATION OF YOURSELF. Always find something to do

Thank you. I'm gonna research a good stethoscope and try to find it on Amazon. I'm so excited about learning everything... I'll definitely keep busy.

I wish I can say something similar in two months...

I was using the app and thought I was responding to a comment under my post lol.
