Physics?

Who has taken Physics?

I'm tinkering with the idea of enrolling in a Physics course for next semester but I have never had any Physics before so I have no idea what to think about it. It is really hard? Is it a lot of math (not that that scares me, just curious)?

Any input....

Psychics they can teach that now! I would be very interested in learning to be a psychic. Just think you could know which patients were going to live and which were going to die immediately. You could tell if they weren't really having pain, you could tell when the crazy family was coming....

Physics

Oh Physics Nope never took that sorry.

LOL just foolin around hope you don't get mad

LOL

I took physics 12 yrs ago and got a B!! It had basic math because it was a physics class for technians. Im my case [auto mechanic]. I liked the tests. Watching a 5 inch long 1/2 inch in diam. bolt literally stretch, was awesome!!

I say, if you are interested and have more time thN classes, go for it.

Good Luck and keep us posted!!

I had a hard time the first two tests--flunked one and barely passed the other. We had a class of 350 and I sat up front. During the third exam, my instructor asked to borrow my calculator, "because you certainly aren't going to benefit from it!" (I was so keyed up, I didn't figure out how nasty he'd been for weeks, and by then I didn't care.)

I went to the help labs, worked all the problems (l love math), and pow! Suddenly it all made sense! I pulled out of my nose dive, started getting 100's, got a B+ the first semester and a perfect score the second. Ticked off my class mates due to setting the curve!

Do I use it now? In specifics, no. In how I generally look at things and understand why they might happen? Yup, all the time.

One tip--I would take as basic a course as I could get, to start out. You can get all crazy and do the fancy stuff later....

I envy you! Have FUN!!

We have an Intro to Physics course, I think I will just start with that since I don't have any physics experience at all, then move on to Physics 1.

Thanks!

Marilyn

I've taken several courses in Physics years ago (as part of my BS in civil engineering) -- way before starting on my present path. Don't think your basic class will be of much use to you in nursing. Found them interesting (engineering-type applications, motion prob's, forces, etc. with a good amount of math). But if I were in your shoes, I'd take something more practical for sure.

Hope this helps.

I wish I could help you out, but my nursing program doesn't require Physics in our curriculum. Sorry.

Intro is a good plan.

See if your school (or one nearby) has a physics for health science majors. That's what I took.

It had the same sorts of material, but in a form which did not require calculus or serious engineering knowledge.

I'm with Larry though--if you are looking to take something that will help you with nursing, this probably ain't it.

On the other hand, it will develop your mind and if you enjoy it, that's a double plus!
