Schools with NO waiting list in AZ? Do they exist...

What schools in the Phx. area run without waiting list & get you in on either a point system based on grades or first come first serve. I am a LPN wanting to transition to a RN. TIA!!!

Central Arizona College in Coolidge does not carry a wait list as of right now. You appy, and you either get in or you don't, and you have to apply again.

Actually CAC is in the process of changing EVERYTHING come the Fall semester. I applied for Spring and instead of the usual carry over into the fall I recieved a letter stating the above. So they will have a waitlist in the end. However, as an LPN you may be able to bypass a wait to get into Block 3 in most areas as long as you have all the pre and co reqs done.

and although it is expensive, you can also try the private school route. iia, apollo college, etc. usually have no wait lists.

I was told today by my instructor that the arizona school system is changing. She told a few of my classmates and I that they are phasing out undergraduate nursing programs so schools will be excepting fewer students and eventually none? She mentioned that the schools and universities are losing money with the nursing programs and soon they will only be investing in graduate nursing programs.

Apollo has no waiting list.

Expensive but being able to work a year sooner makes up a huge portion of the tuition costs.

Can you elaborate on that? Be more specific.....Please.....

I was told by a family member who is an Executive Director of ANA that there has been a long hard push to phase out the ADN programs and move to pure BSN programs. The greatest issue with doing this is it add to an already existing nursing shortage. So in short she said that not until the shortage was addressed would the ADN be eliminated.

Now to speak of AZ specifically, I cannot see the ADN programs being unprofitable considering there are 1-1.5 year waiting lists. There is a student for every seat. They could charge $40,000 for an ADN if they wanted to and their seats would still be filled, the private schools prove this. They tack on so many pre-req classes that they ensure they get a decent revenue flow from nursing students. It is insane that an ADN nearly take 4 years to accomplish.

Yavapai College has no waiting list. Your entrance is based on your HESI entrance exam. You also have to have to have to take a CNA class.

chamberlain college of nursing

here are the reason's why

no waiting lists

accelerated 3 year bsn program

dont need any prereq's to get in, they are included in the program

only need 2.75 gpa to get in

high school transcripts dont count in their decision to accept you

affordable for most people

trimester all year round

double accreditation

good luck:d

no offense but how do you figure "affordable for most people" when tuition is $50k something?

I saw on a website online that Grande Canyon University has no waiting list for the nursing program. A little bit more pricey...but worth it if you don't want to be waiting forever.

look in to ASU

Try Mohave Community College. They have 3 campuses, lake havasu, kingman, and bullhead. they don't have a waiting list and have an lpn-rn program, or at least used to.
