iS IT NORMAL TO BE SCARED AT FIRST IM SORTA QUISSYY ABOUT IT

Yes, it is normal to be scared for awhile...but the more you do it, the more comfortable you will get. Generally, you'll take a class to learn how to do these things, and the class members will practice on each other so you can get a little more comfortable before actually going out and attacking patients. ;)

and welcome! all the best to you.

thx alot

kittie i suggest you shadow a nurse (or several) to help you gain a real perspective on what we do. Your questions are valid but we cannot begin to illustrate exactly what nursing IS on a bulletin board. I wish you well.

Welcome Kitty! These nurses here are so helpful! I agree about the shadowing idea, also my facility told me " just call lab, the will get it" I have done that once,it is easier sometimes just to get it yourself-you know its getting done Good Luck!

Nursing is a great career and very rewarding, but it is also a fluidy, blood, "gross", stressful, dirty, "what the heck am I doing here" kinda job. Shadow what the other say. Shadow a nurse(s).....See what we really do......it is fun, come on in. Volunteer in a nursing home/hospital. Get you CNA if you don't have it. Work as a CNA or a transporter or anything within the setting of your choice to get your feet wet, gain experience and ease........

It isn't easy, but it is worth it, if it is what you want.......
