Hello
I am waiting to get my test date and was wondering about workshops. Is Lynn Fredericks or Sherri Taylors workshop the best? How far in advance should you take the workshop before taking your cpne?
Thanks

If you're planning to attend a workshop, I would plan a month to a month and a half out. This time frame would allow you to review all of the material and practice you care plans and labs. Before you plan on attending any workshop you should have read the EC study guide and have a fair understanding of what EC wants you to know. One thing you MUST remember is most people will do things that is acceptable in their unit, EC might not allow it, you have to do it their way.
I attended Shrei Taylor's workshop in Atlanta, the cost was reasonable and the arrangements she has made for the hotel is excellent. The information she teaches will help you pass the CPNE the first time with no problems if you follow her direction. Let's look at the support you can receive after the workshop, care plans, you can submit care plans and she will review them until you retest, phone and email support, if you test in Atlanta you can go to the workshop the day before your test and review and get some hands on practice. Then if you happen to fail after all of this support, you can re attend the workshop for free, if you go to her website you can check out the fail policy. I enjoyed her workshop and would not have passed with out taking one.
I however, have not taken any of the other workshops so I cannot speak on their performance and content, but I do know the one I attended worked for me.
Good luck on you choice

I am currently attending Sheri's online workshop and it is PRICELESS. I ordered some DVD's and a few things from excelsior but her workshop has been the best by far. Read the EC guide at least twice and o like she tells you. You will pass. :)

People who had attended multiple workshops in the past that I met at west coast Tina's workshop all stated that her's (west coast Tina's) was the best and they wished they had gone there first. Their complaints sounded very valid to me.

+1 for Sheri. She is a Queen of the careplans, that's for sure :)

I just got in last night from Lynn's workshop.. LOVED IT!!! my cpne is in a couple of weeks and while I have been studying, I have been focusing on the wrong things.. I thought I had the careplan stuff down.. based on Lynn's way, I wasn't as well off as I thought I was. She provided AMAZING info.
best of luck
