work days per year

I think I work 128 days a year. I did elect to work summer school this year, and got paid extra for it. :) Hope this helps.

we're contracted for 186 days with 6 snow days. If we don't use all the snow days we *sometimes* get a day or two off at the end of the year - depends on how nice the administration is feeling. Summer school is separate - the nurses in district have to apply if they want to work it. Usually no arguments over who wants it (usually it's more so someone stepping up and taking it.) I get the same benes as the teachers - on their salary guide also.

WOW.. wish I was on the teachers salary guide too! Never thought I would say that seeing that teachers on ave make less than an RN. Not in the school system I am in. BUT, there are many positive notes to the job to make it equal out in the end!!

Some districts pay professional dues to the school nurses association and a specific dollar amount toward outside continuing education classes. Ohters offer gym memberships free or at a discount.

I work 204 days per year. I work one week after the kids are released in June (to tidy things up) and come back 3 weeks before students do (staff CPR trainings, BBP trainings, meetings, preparing for new school year, etc.) I am not on the teachers schedule nor their salary scale but I wish I was. I have a BSN and am working on a MSN so I feel I am just as "professional" as any teacher! However, on the flip side, teachers pay big-time union dues and I would probably be the first one laid off when it comes to budget cuts if I were equal to the teachers!!

I forget my number of days, maybe 187? But I have a choice whether to work summer school or not. This year I did not, and I enjoyed my summer so much I will probably not do it again! The extra pay is nice, but so is the extra time off. I work the same schedule as the teachers and have their pay scale as well.

I agree, some of the teachers make more than me too! I work 185 days, and had the option to have summer off, which was great for me : )

Anyone working in Tx school system?

190 days. We are not on the teacher salary, but we do get a stipend for college. Something like an additional $300 for every 30 credits earned.
