I was just pondering, why people (nurses) so strive for getting in the USA?

The relatively higher pay, autonomy, technology, and job availability.

Most come for the higher salaries, and some for education. Not all countires provide graduate degrees in nursing programs. An example being Thailand, most of the MSN and PhD nurses are trained in the US. If the government has paid their tuituin and expenses, then they are required to return to Thailand to do a "payback." Most plan to return to the US, but it doesn't always work out that way.
Another is variety in weather, some states have four seasons in certain locales.

I came for: sign on bonus, free training to be a telemetry nurse, lower patient ratios, educational money from hospital to put towards my degree, lower cost of living, improved standard of living for my income, ability to earn a higher wage as back home i was maxed out at the top union wage and the experience of going to the US.

There is a lot of flexibility in the US. Hospitals will train you in different specialties and you can take travel nurse assignments where you are only commited for a few months and make a good living.

We are going there because we like the way of life over there...our move to the USA has nothing to do with pay because I will be earning slightly more than I am now - we just love it there :)
yes I aggree, my pay though will be slightly less when I work in US
